Dan I totally agree about Coburn and Cundle transfers we are rebound for bidding cheap and loosing our targets I put that down to the board not having the same ambitions as the fans I think they are happy with championship level of football on the Luton game your spot on about the experience players stepping up I don't blame Alex Neil it's the players the positives fron Tuesdays draw was young Bangura Williams and the French lad looks as he can play a bit but the injuries to Lenny and Danny Mac don't look good and end of season a big clear out is needed Hutch Wallace Harding Bryan Saville Mitchell Honeyman and Whatmore need to go bring the youngsters on and make some decent signings Lions to beat Luton 2 nil coyl

I think Coburn would be a great addition on a permanent basis, especially if we can get the midfield pushing up the pitch and supporting the strikers. Hopefully against luton the players will have that mentality that we`ve fucked up in previous matches and let the fans down and we now need to give the fans something back! Going for a 3-0 Millwall win! COYL!

The Coburn news is really weird. I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad signing (provided the price is right), but I don’t understand why it needs to happen now when he’s already on loan until the end of the season. It almost feels like an attempt to placate fans since it don’t look like we have other targets. Bottom line is we need reinforcements now and signing a guy that’s already on loan at the club is no help at all. Also, if Boro are still asking for £3-4m then I’m not sure it’s a good deal at all considering the injury struggles, but for the right fee then I think it’s alright. Also, my understanding of Cundle is that he’s more of an 8, but can play a 10 if needs be. I don’t hate the idea but I’d like a guy that’s an out and out 10
@andrewroberts29921 сағат бұрын
Boro have seen that Coburn’s been injured twice in half a season, so maybe they want shot of him now because they think he’ll be too injury prone if he goes back to them when his loan deal ends? That, and the fact Coburn is down the pecking order list of Boro’s strikers, they might let him go for a lot less than what they originally wanted, which was, I think, £3M-£4M? If we don’t buy him now and he comes back in February, stays fit and starts knocking the goals in for us till the end of the season, Boro will put his price up and other clubs with interest in him (and more money than us) might be tempted to buy him and we end up losing out! Let’s strike while the iron is hot, get him in and let’s hope he can score the goals that fire us up the table. If he does that, the financial aspect of staying in the Championship for another season will far outweigh whatever the club spent to get him in permanently.
@ColinS8921 сағат бұрын
@ I get that and it’s a fair point. My perspective is right now there’s a lot of “Ifs” surrounding The squad. If Coburn can stay fit, if he can keep up his good form, etc. Personally I’d like for us to bring in another striker, an older player with Championship experience that can be a mentor to Ivanovic and Coburn. Then if Coburn does stay fit and looks in form, move for him in the summer. We’ll have over £20m from the Esse and Flemming sales and worst case scenario, Boro wants their original price for him (£3-4m). I’m not saying we’re so flush that we shouldn’t worry about money, but I reckon we’ve also made enough to where we don’t necessarily have to bargain hunt. Then if we stay up we’ll have an experienced head to guide Coburn and Ivanovic. Also I still say this very much feels like placating fans. Also, for what it’s worth, I feel like Ivanovic and Coburn are kind of a similar profile (I know there’s some debate about whether he’s a true target or not, but he’s certainly not pacy), so I’m not sure we need them both. In reality we should have moved for Coburn on a permanent in the summer and never bought Ivanovic at all. Now we might end up with both which sort of feels like a waste of £3m
@davidslater7917Күн бұрын
I’m not so sure he’s injury prone. The injury he has at the moment is a broken metatarsal which is on your instep where your laces are. Many players have had that ,Beckham was out for ages with it. Normally either someone has kicked you there or you have kicked someone’s boot and it’s broken it, I don’t think that makes you injury prone

It's a gamble...would love a fit coburn..maybe extended loan with option to buy?
@markmurphy3578Күн бұрын
If we are really in for Cundle and he is an attacking midfielder then that’s great. Wintle is on loan, Savs ain’t getting any younger. Are Honeyman and Billy going to be resigned? Kelly is waiting in the wings but he has had some knocks too. This is about this season and beyond. He looks like a player we could use. I’ve always said that Coburn would be a great signing if the price is right. Should the fee be based on his availability or starts? Someone has to do the maths. Obviously he isn’t available for the moment. Lets just hope he gets over this injury soon and can stay fit and play a decent amount of games for the remainder of the season. Luton. F@ck knows! We gave them their first win of the season I think, so form has sweet fa to do with it. I’d love it to be a win, but without a right back I don’t know what selection would make it possible. Crama and Harding, plus Tanganga, we have options. They’ve all played there. Admittedly Crama maybe only once. But Cooper plays better with Tanganga next to him and that could be the biggest gamble. I’ll go 1-1, because I think it’s too tough to call. COYL

See the press are starting to compare Rowett (17 points from 21) at Oxford with Neil at Millwall. (2 points from 12). Perhaps they do not realise that points don't matter to Gallen and Berylson - developing players for profit is the name of their game.
@jzero062823 сағат бұрын
Coburn could be a good addition when fit but how often will he be fit? But why do Millwall get so many injuries? Are they just unlucky or is there something wrong with their strength and conditioning training? The core of this team went unbeaten in the Championship for eleven games before the collapse, what happened behind the scenes? Neil has to inspire the team to beat Luton - but can he? He does not seem to have motivated them much so far.

Are all these unexpected but now regular shitshows not the fault of the managers? The modern 'layers of management' may work fine for some clubs but as a coach as opposed to a manager at MFC do they have the authority to dish out real bollockings when needed ? Our last four managers have given post (shitshow) match interviews that never address obviously unacceptable performances,leaving us once again hoping the problems will just go away. Meanwhile let's hope the players take Dan's advice and do their own ass kicking cos if they are that fit they can surely run and concentrate for 90 minutes.
@DanielWynn-v7bКүн бұрын
I’d say no, they aren’t. The people to blame should be the board and those making the transfer decisions. They’ve allowed this team to become old and stagnant. Spent too many years signings players for now rather than the future like were attempting to do now. Sadly for the club they may have left it too little too late.
