Honeyman was Man Of The Match, deservedly, ahead of De Norre and Bryan with Esse looking outstanding at times. Langstaff, Tanganga, and Co. all played well and we were, , clearly the better team and thoroughly deserved our win. Honeyman, in particular, was involved everywhere and when he scores his annual goal then you know that it's your day:) Played some good football today and a very pleasing performance. Aristotle said over 2,300 years ago “One swallow does not a summer make ” However more performances like that from Honeyman, will silence critics, like me, who say that over the last 18 months, he has not done enough at the sharp end..Today he, definitely, did.

Hull City signed him on a three-year contract in 2019 with the option of a further year, which they did not take up. He has played the majority of minutes in the 68 games that he has played for us scoring one goal so even if we just say 70 minutes per appearance that is 70 x 68 minutes which is : DRUM ROLL.........FOUR THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED and 60 Minutes and ONE goal in a team where 6 of the other players i.e.The 2 DM's and Back 4, rarely, score either.

Honeyman does a lot for the side, stats back that up when you look at how much he presses, how much ground he covers. By doing what he does, that allows Esse and Watmore to get further forward more often. He can’t score, that’s obvious. But too many people just don’t understand the tactical side of the game, so they don’t understand why he plays. But you’re right Dan, that’s not his position.

Agree with almost everything though I assume it's too early for Ivanovic and Langstaff to play as a "2" at home,at least. You are exactly right about showing these mediocre teams too much respect like Watford.. I see that Norwich went for them and, duly, won 4/1. It's not George's fault that he is out of position but in the games he has played in many of our last 60+ matches and have been one of the lowest scorers at home with the worst home record in our 139-year history and we have suffered a mighty fall from being on the verge of the Play-Offs in 2022/23. As I predicted the 12.30 Kick does not suit Home teams because though, sometimes, the opposition will have fewer fans, the atmosphere is, dead, compared to later matches.
