When I was a young girl back in the 60’s I would visit the zoo in our town and every time I heard one of the lions roaring , no matter how far away their exhibit would be from where I was. I would take off to be hopefully in time to see them roar. I would find this to be as close to magnificent as anything I have ever had the privilege to observe or to be present for. Wow it still excites me to hear them roar. Watching Meg introduce the beginning of this video was truely precious. I am envious of you Kevin because you to enjoy the gift of sharing the acting out of love & friendship with them all. Your dedication & commitment with each and all of the animals throughout the many years is without exception. To be able to hug and touch them has got to be far more than you ever believed possible. Now we know why Meg was always brutal towards any male Kevin tried to pair her with! He even mentioned how odd it was! And of course Amy already had ‘her male’ and didn’t care for another. It also explains why Amy always deferred to Meg. Animals just ‘know’. It was news to us, but not news to the Prides and to Amy I am sure!

@@mohinib2001 Perhaps all of her cubs shared this condition, which is why she rejected them all. Mothers in the wild usually only reject cubs that are ill, disabled or have some sort of deformity/mutation. People only assumed she had no maternal instincts because the cubs never became sick and lived past childhood, this however would explain her behaviour as she would have been able to detect this in her cubs. It would also explain why meg and amy’s aunt (who cared for her cubs just fine) rejected them as well. Sorry for the essay i just find this whole thing rly fascinating
