What I noticed about Meggy is at times when she knows Kev is coming into her enclosure she will act all nonchalant, as if she could not be bothered about him and is busy focusing on a tree or bush and as soon as he walks in and closes the gate behind him she pounces. It’s hilarious and so sweet.

It's so much healthier for both Meg & Icarus to have companionship rather than being alone. They'll both live happier & longer lives w/another lion with whom to share their space. It's so important they decide to bond w/each other becoming friends. Meg really needs a friend, especially, after the tragic loss of Amy. Kevin, you're going about things in exactly the right way w/two who are perfectly suited to each other. It's beautiful to watch.

Oh yes! Animals of nature very nature - y one's especially such as lions obviously can't communicate wit English words no? So they're use Energy! Well humans do too but we can have word's of mouth for that so energy is used less so fa us! But anyways yes lions and animals of the like (cats most notable too!) use other senses, so energy, intentions, body language, vibration which is similar to energy. Simply so, cuz they can't use words no? So when he speaks English words to him, da lion's "listen" as in pick up on his inflections in his word's or otherwise known as ENERGY, the vibration of his speech and words wether they feel and sound good or bad, Playful, love ect ect. I mean it ain't rocket science ya feel? It's really logical actually if ya think abt it! 🖤 😅🤓💙

I have to say I was very very nervous when it was decided to put the two of them together as I’m sure it was for everyone. I’m glad no harm has come to Meg and Icarus. Because of that this has to be a success that they can live in the same enclosure without tension and fights it’s wonderful. ❤️🦁❤️🦁

That is great success they have the two of them together night and day and no injuries or spats. It is clear to me that Maggie sees you Kevin as her mate. She’s giving you all the affection. To me Icarus looks like he’s been told off by Meg too many times and he’s backed off from being affectionate towards her. He seemed a lot more wanting to be affectionate with her on the first day they were together. You know Kevin you will always be her main man 😍 but, I think she will come around to Having some affection towards Icarus. I hope I am wrong but, that’s what it looks like to me right now

Haha when you said "Its like setting your 90 year ild grandmother up with a new man" she jumped on you because she was not happy about you calling her old. She was thinking "I'll show him 90 year old grandmother". Im so happy that this is working out they both seem calmer. Also do lions feel safer if there is more of them together? Like in a pride situation vs being alone as just having another lion around might be enough for them both to feel safer. As in if something happens they have another lion to back them up.

I am not a 90 year old granny, but i have lived alone for longer then meg had. Its a big adjustment to share space after that. They didn’t have a choice in the matter on top of that adjustment. Its a great decision to try. A few growing pains to be expected. But with everyones encouragement, calm attitudes and time, i am sure my lion friends will settle in. Both stuck in their own ways. But maybe they will learn to create new ways. Such a handsome set. Meg will forever let kev know he is number one in her life. And even though icarus is still a new guy to get to know, i like him already. I think he is acting like a gentleman. Not to pushy. Respectful distance. A great sign they refused lock up. Surely there way of telling you the next step is welcomed. I for one can barely wait for the head bumps.

Honestly, my biggest concern with these 2 after their initial combining (which went great!) was when Kev tried to pet or stroke one of them, would the other become jealous. That's MY Kev! Or should she pounce on you as is her way. But clearly it wasn't a problem. I could tell you didn't want a BUNCH of her jumping on you when he was closer, but also gave him an opportunity to see that it's 'just what y'all do' with each other. It's not as if I weren't fighting tears as it was but at 13:00 it's as if she were thanking you ever so heartily! It's at night when our minds reel of Life events and toss and turn should we not be able to sleep. When the world is still & quiet there is no distraction to keep us from our thoughts. I imagine the Animal Kingdom to be not much different. She no longer has to sleep alone and she is grateful. Thanks Kev & Crew. Thank you for ALL you do. For them, for the land and for us. 💖
