I have the MAC in Patisserie, and while I definitely love the colour, I hate the gold shimmer. It's not a crazy amount, but definitely noticeable, and the gold sparkles always ends up on the skin around my lips. Other than that though, the colour is gorgeous!

If you like Patisserie, you should definitely try out Syrup (by MAC). Patisserie used to be my go-to MAC lipstick until I purchased Syrup on a whim. The tones are very similar but Syrup has more purple in it. It's a lovely shade that is sadly overlooked.

Try putting the ysl lip thingy on the back of your hands first and then apply it to your cheeks with a real techniques buffing brush.
