Lip Sync and Animation Test

Really Rough Frames: I use them to just get a feel for the gesture or poses, usually done really quick and don't worry at all about details. Keyframes: Add details to tie down the character. I always separate the layers such as the hair, body, or mouth so I don't struggle much in the inbetweens. I also try to leave the mouth/lip sync last. Inbetweens: Add extra frames "inbetween" to smooth out the animation.

I think the headshake could be improved with some smear frames/motion blur! It really helps fast movements look fluid

@@Omnific Yep! A smear frame tends to be easier to draw than an in-between too :3 so it's very useful to make your animation look quick and be quicker for you to make!

Hmm this could be just me, but I think it would help to put in those in-betweens instead of motion blur or smear frames as the movement of the head is more subtle.

I love the lip sync and the draftsmanship you did for this... A bit of critique though. When he shakes his head there is a level of offnes to it and I believe it's because the side to side motions are too broad. I guess a bit subtlety would help improve this piece

@@Omnific a good reference for that in my opinion would be Milt Kahl's head swaggles. Though in that context, the head shake is more an act of confidence, the movement is the same principle
