I hate the water because it's not built on just H2O if built, H2O, and satanism. If it was just a can, I would look at it nothing more than a gimmick. However, their ads suggests that they are 100% demonic.

I manage a coffee shop in LA. During the 2020 pandemic and lockdown we opened a community fridge that anyone can just come take donated food and drinks from. Liquid Death would send dozens of free boxes of water every month for the fridge effort. Call it a marketing tactic but I'm sure there were people who's days were made a little less shitty with a can of refreshing "cool" water and that's why I continue to support the brand

As former addict i love the concept of the cans, if i go to an event it makes it look like I’m drinking like everyone else and keeps me from answering weird questions from drunk ppl wondering why I’m not drinking with them. I totally agree; as a fellow alcoholic. There is something about the mental crack of a can that causes a weird ASMR. Really though, the Mango Chainsaw and Berry It Alive flavors are pretty darn good. In most stores I've been to, it's one of the few products using a light sweetener (agave nectar) instead of sugar or artificial sweeteners, so it fills a role there too for someone like me who wants a drink that's not heavy on sugar. It's 100% a brand built upon backlash and defiance of traditional consumer expectations. Also the branding really is very cool!

I like the flavored Liquid Death beverages for the exact same reason. Too many beverage companies are overloading their beverages with sugar and artificial sweeteners. The only major alternative is beverages that are completely unsweetened, which can be too unpleasant to drink casually. Liquid Death hits the metaphorical sweet spot by adding the right amount of sweetness in the least unhealthy way possible.

LD in their marketing did favors for people in general. Facts. 1. Every can of LD drunk over beer, energy drink, etc is one more healthier person. Can't be argued. 2. They have a point most water ads suck. So they bluntly pointed it out and finally it got attention. So did the negatives of energy drinks beer etc. It brought the conversation about ir up among many and often poeple who normally wouldn't have think anything of it. They promoting health in the end. To some theyd be healthy regardless, but for others, it helped a lot. Unlike Supreme which can't compare at all. A can of LD is WAY cheaper at basic price than any of the cheapest Surpeme clothing available. Whats a few dollars and some social media attention to a company that at least tried to make a difference? Most companies can't say the same.

Great video! As a marketer, I do enjoy watching their campaigns. They are clever, edgy and fun! I appreciate that you touch on the sustainability issues with Liquid Death as their "Death To Plastic" campaign is deceiving! Aluminum cans way over double the weight for the same serving as a plastic bottle. As such, pollution from shipping needs to be considered into the equation as well. Additionally, as another commenter mentioned, the cans are single-use. We are seeing re-sealable aluminum cans which can solve that issue, but that packaging is considerably more expensive. All in all, it's a complicated and complex topic! 😅
@FishStickington
@FishStickington 11 ай бұрын
Very little plastic that you throw in your recycling can actually gets recycled though, I think its something like 10% but I'm not totally sure. Whereas aluminum is much easier to recycle and as a result is recycled much more often. You can look it up to be sure but I think something like 75% of all aluminum put into production is still being used in the global supply chain today. Also "double the weight" of a plastic bottle sounds really bad but you have to realize the vast majority of the total shipping weight is in the actual water itself, so its a pretty negligible difference overall. If you want to cut down the pollution from shipping a certain amount of freight its safe to say the best choice would be to not buy pre-packaged water at all, regardless of the container it comes in. I personally think that if you are gonna buy packaged water then Aluminum is a happy medium between plastic and glass, plastic being the lightest to ship but one of the least recycled and worse for your health due to potential chemical leech into the water, and glass being relatively safe in terms of chemical leech but the heaviest to ship and also the least commonly recycled. Aluminum won't leech chemicals into your beverage and is the most likely to actually be recycled assuming you do throw it in the recycling bin.

The irony of an article mentioning the nonsense of packing water is a facepalm. Literally everything we consume is all based around packing and marketing to appeal to the consumer. I wouldn't buy LD but I can see the appeal it has for certain people which is the demographic theyre selling to in the first place. I also think their merchandise could generate a lot of sales for them also. I mean who's out there wearing Dasani shirts?

I mean I've never been much of a fan of sparkling water, but I can actually tolerate Liquid Death. I wasn't even aware of the whole branding aspect and the story behind it until after I had already been drinking it for quite a while. I don't really pay attention to digital trends and shit, and I only have one social media profile that I hardly ever keep up with (I haven't even logged in in over 6 months honestly). That said, I had no idea it was such a trend until after I had already been won over by the product itself. The branding was just kind of a plus I guess, at least for me. I'm a big metal head so anything with skulls on it like that will appeal to me, so I just tried it once and happened to like it so I kept buying it. My point is that the product itself ain't really half bad... I'm quite the fan of the "Berry It Alive" sparkling water myself. Apparently they just released a melon flavor too, so I've been wanting to try it. The new line of teas is totally news to me though, so we'll have to see how those pan out...

I'd be willing to try Liquid Death solely based on the fact that it comes out of a can so it might actually taste decent. There's also the fact that Liquid Death Sparkling Water tastes better than any other sparkling water on the market. A lot better. It just does. And I could absolutely pick it out in a blind taste test. First time I heard about it was seeing it on the shelf at my local Sheetz, cuz I have better things to do than waste my time on social media, and I'll admit that the only reason I bought it was because of the brand packaging and wanting to see if the product held up or stood out in any significant way. And wow, I am so happy that I did. The branding may have gotten me to try it, but I keep drinking because it is absolutely the best tasting water I have ever had.

"What's the point?" The point is this guy invented this brand to fight against the heavy drinking culture of alcohol and energy drinks in and around music while also being more environmentally friendly by using cans, which are infinitely more recyclable, than plastic bottles whose recyclable nature is very limited. You can recycle a can almost infinitely into new cans but once plastic is a water bottle once that is it, it may be made into other products like plastic furniture, carpeting or car parts but it will never be a water bottle again meaning we will always need resources for water bottles. These are legitimately the coolest motivations I have ever seen to make a brand in my life, far more than the gnarly skull on every can. Also the way these guys roll with the punches, not letting assholes "who don't get it" ruin their time and regardless you gotta respect how they turn it around into a positive. Given the skeletons in the closet of "respectable" water brands, whether it is Nestle exploiting droughts or the fact that plastic water bottles are one of the worst forms of litter on the planet, no one really has the right to judge the motivation of Liquid Death to just be a wholesome brand and yes I am aware that is a weird thing to say about a brand with a skull on it.

By far, the trendiest water is actually "Untapped Potential." You can get it from underground by turning this thing called a faucet and then it goes straight into any glass. Everyone calls it "tap" for short, which is something I fuck with. Best of all, it was revolutionary because it didn't even require any advertising or online presence to go viral. It's rare to see the two concepts of creativity and imagination in the water market of this caliber.

Liquid Death is a water company that is just all about the looks and the glory. It's like Dr Squatch soaps. They both have this unique and different look and unique and different marketing and advertisements, but in the end, Squatch is just dyed soap. I can make the same shit in my kitchen. And like Liquid Death, it's the same basis. It's just mountain water. No different than Evian or Adirondack water. I can get these for cheaper and it's the same or better quality. Honestly this company using metal, isn't better than using plastic. They both still need to be dumped in recycling bins and collected and then processed into something else. It's overly priced pretty can water that only idiots who are sheepish trend followers or straight up bad money handlers purchase to try to "be cool" or "be different", and it's quite pathetic really.
