As long as you aren't submerging something in the LN2 it will be relatively harmless. The bucket itself will be able to withstand the cold very well although it may be brittle during the period that it is still reaching room temperature again. The respiratory dangers are the greatest of the concerns here, it is the same reason you don't transport LN2 in an elevator. I'm guessing he had a hood fan or an open door we can't see.

1. not that dangerous when wearing that 2. it wasnt just one bucket and whats the bucket going to do melt? 3. he leaves the room and is wearing a gas/dust mask.

Ok, several questions from an obvious non science person. 1. that seemed way to casual of a way to handle something that dangerous. 2. since liquid nitrogen freezes things is the bucket anything special or is it just a regular bucket to withstand those temps? 3. what are the respiratory dangers of doing something like that in such an enclosed space.
