One of the very best clear explanations I've ever come across. The real photography of the components clarified the explanations superbly.

Thanks and glad to help Jason! If you have any questions, just put them here in comment section. I don't have any refrigeration books out and just have the videos that I did on refrigeration so far. I have the 229 page air conditioning and heat pump book out presently, thanks!

Excellent video. Please keep it up. At 2:55, you told, "refrigerant is going to pick some oil from bottom", so this oil will not hydrolock the compressor? Thanks for clarification.

Excellent explanation. Just wondering why a valve is never kept between the condenser and receiver. If there was, then one could save some refrigerant in case a minute leak was found in the condenser and the condenser had to be repaired.

It is just like everything else, the minimal amount of parts to break and the minimal amount of parts cost wise to come stock on a unit. Thanks Prabal!

Question if I need to replace a bad txv which locate in evaporator coil do I just pump down receiver tank storage refrigerant in the liquid receiver tank or I have to recovery all refrigerant out of system then replace a new txv?
@acservicetechchannel
@acservicetechchannel 5 жыл бұрын
That would depend on how well the compressor seals the refrigerant on the vapor side and if it has extra ports, thanks!

Great video! I have a question regarding this subject. Let's assume such condensing unit with receiver working with TXV and eveporator with constant capacity demand. What would happen with sthe system, if ambient temperature goes down? How TXV react, how evaporating temperature changes? Is receiver able to prevent all those changes? Because theoreticaly the lower ambient temperature, the higher unit's capacity, even if cooling demand remains the same.
@martingates5952
@martingates5952 4 жыл бұрын
When the ambient temp decrease, the high pressure falls and doesn't works well the whole system, so you need to be sure that the high pressure must be the right one to feed enough líquid to the txv, you can install a condenser fan motor pressure switch

If I'm designing a refrigeration unit how do I choose a TXV? the compressor is 1.25 HP and it uses R134A. Can I run a unit without a TXV?

Hey you are a great teacher and thank you for always training us online. I have a quick question, me and my coworkers been running into alot of drain issues lately, through an EZ Trap and even though the drain is clear, the system will not drain unless you take the mechanical black cap off the EZ Trap so we added a Tee / air vent before the trap to help. But I think you shouldn't have to have that extra vent, any help would be great thanks again!
@acservicetechchannel
@acservicetechchannel 5 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't have to remove the cap. Are you filling the trap with the water weight needed to stop the air in the trap or are you using a dry type of trap, thanks

@@acservicetechchannel yeah I didnt think you should have to remove the cap. yes there is water in the trap it is the EZ Trap that needs water. Only thing different is I put a vent in BEFORE the ez trap but I am trying to figure out why it happened
