Very informative. I was just wondering what would happen if you sprayed the activator as soon as you put the film on the water and then waited 60seconds to dip?

I'm just got your product in the mail today and going to try it tomorrow. How long do I wait to rinse after the parts has been dripped. Thanks
@LiquidConceptsUSA
@LiquidConceptsUSA 4 жыл бұрын
Normally you can wait 1-2 min. after dipping or even an hour or so. It wont hurt it either way.

What type of base coat is needed? Can they be regular of the Walmart shelf or specific to hydro?
@stevenbewick592
@stevenbewick592 4 жыл бұрын
Automotive paints work really well, solvent base coats not top coats. Dip time of around 5hrs, depending on paint "open" time. Of course specific hydro paints will be best as they are designed especially for the process. Not too sure about Walmart paint but I've heard rattle cans work to a certain extent. Be careful of clear from cans as they have high solvent levels and can spoil graphics. Hope this helps.
@LiquidConceptsUSA

You really need to use automotive base coats as they hold up the best but you can use walmart paint but you will have varying results and it wont be as consistent.

Dang, I'm just trying to hydro-dip some shoes, what I really need to know is 1. Can I use just hose water temp? 2. Do I tape the edges of the film or better to just get a container size that doesn't let it expand?

My film isnt liquifying. I got ur carbon film, very nice film btw compared to ebay film i tried last time. Had film gloss side down, used hydrovator,80- 90 degree, 1 minute... Still wont liquify/glassify for me. I did some parts a few years ago and it worked great. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Not yet but we will add that to the list for you! Normally you want to keep the film in a climate controlled room and keep the humidity to around 50% or less if possible.

Do you have any tips for DIY Vats as far as water filtration goes? Like does it matter if we recently sprayed activator on a previous dip and we go and do it again in a short amount of time without cycling water? Not sure if they left over residue from the spray effects the next layer of film i place in the water.
@LiquidConceptsUSA
@LiquidConceptsUSA 4 жыл бұрын
Normally most people will use some sort of furnace filter or something like that for water filtration. Normally you can get multiple dips from a single smaller vat of water. In our larger tanks we are actually only filtering out the contaminates, not the activator that is in the water. The main thing is to make sure you dont have any excess film floating around on top of the water or tons of excess activator you can see.

Is there anything one has to look out for if We use Spray paint cans (Acrylic) Instead of one of these pre-made layer things?
@LiquidConceptsUSA
@LiquidConceptsUSA 4 жыл бұрын
Water dipping or "swirling" is completely different than the dipping process. I am sorry but I am not that knowledgeable in swirling at the moment.

@@LiquidConceptsUSA it's okay. I have made quite a few test runs and I have to say it is pretty difficult to get it going properly. Most of the time there is some residue that is hanging off of the object I decided to use and it sometimes sticks to the rest of the paint that's already on there, making a second and unwanted layer

The film is sold by the meter so you can order any continuous length you would like. The pricing varies based on the width of the film you choose and the quantity ordered.

With colder water, will it reduce stretching?
@LiquidConceptsUSA
@LiquidConceptsUSA 4 жыл бұрын
It wont reduce stretching but you will have to wait a tad bit longer in colder water to make sure the film still hydrates as needed to stretch the correct amount if needed on the part.
