Thanks man, I was about to kill myself but thought i'd check the comments. It was working for a minute then just stopped after I tinkered with it. Thinking I had messed it up which I obv did. to people who dont know where he shade the water,first turn the render propoties to cycles and go to the shading, and click the water. and turn it roughness to 0 and transmission to full,i hope it helps

For everyone who does not have liquid flowing after all the actions done: as I understand it, it's about the size of the liquid source itself, and not in absolute size, but in size, relative to the cube, which is the domain. Personally, in my case, as soon as the source became 1/15 of the height of the cube (domain), the water poured out. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I hope it helps someone.

In the UV sphere physics settings, keyframe the USE FLOW checkbox. If you uncheck it, the flow will stop. For example, if you have a 200 frame animation and you want the flow to stop at frame 150, go to frame 149, set a keyframe for USE FLOW, go to frame 150, uncheck the USE FLOW checkbox and set a keyframe.

use flip fluid addon bro, you need to add lots of resolution to make water thinner and it will cost you more time.

Hey, I have a couple questions: Why is it when I change the domain to "Liquid", the cube I used for the domain stays a solid mesh? Also, when I bake the domain, the mesh stays solid and the liquid simulation doesn't work? And when I say it doesn't work, I mean it doesn't work. Like, at all. You can't even see it working when you're viewing it from wireframe.

@GorillaGus1 I found the fix, you have to turn the surface thickness up a tiny bit in the effector/glass physics tab. Try and keep the thickness as low as possible just until the water is flowing properly.

I'm starting a checklist of all the most common problems with fluid simulation. It is far from complete! But my first guess is the sphere is smaller than, or about the same size as, the little box in the corner of the big fluid domain box. That little box shows the spacing of the xyz grid upon which the math is computed. Fluid sim can't deal with anything on a scale smaller than that. Also, the cache has a choice of Modular, Replay or All, and once you've picked one how the rest works is different. Explained by other Blender KZbinrs, hard to do in a comment here. Then, there are a dozen other ways to have no action in a fluid sim and all i can say is good luck, and watch fluid sim tutorials from different explainers.

in the principle BSDF, just reduce the Roughness and maybe play around the Metallic slider. you'll find out which one suits you best.

There is a particular challange I'm facing and hope you can assist me. So I'm animating a simple wash hand basin with water from a faucet. All parameters followed and done over many times. From frame one to three the dormain is visible in the render and final output. From frame 4 to 271 excellent but from frame 272 the domain returns and it appears to reflect the material applied to the water! any suggestions?
