Hi there, Liron here!
THIS IS A REUPLOAD - KZbin messed up the original video, as some of you have let me know (cut it at 01:55 after the full vid was available for at least a few hours).
Today I wanted to share with you what I feel is one of my BEST processes here.
I recreated a painting that I loved to begin with! And there's a lot to learn here about highlights, mid-values and darks.
🎨 TIME-STAMPS 🎨
01:36 - How I sketch
09:17 - First Wash - underpainting
14:28 - Second wash - mid-values
37:57 - Third wash - shadows and details
56:37 - Final result
57:37 - Conclusion
🎨 MATERIALS 🎨
Paints
Nickel Azo Yellow (Daniel Smith) - amzn.to/2WvPGT3
Phthalo Blue (RS) (Daniel Smith) - amzn.to/2Tle6MV
Alizarin Crimson Permanent (SAA)
Brushes
Leonard mop - Size 6
Raphael mop - Size 12
Silver Black Velvet - Size 12 - amzn.to/2TszP5C
Princeton synthetic - Size 12
Paper
Saunders Waterford 300 gsm
🎨 CONCLUSION 🎨
I hope you enjoyed this one and learned something new! (:
The next vid will be a vlog, discussing the last 2 weeks and talking about the plans for upcoming videos.
Take care, and we'll talk again really soon!

Hi everyone! This is a re-upload (: The video takes a little longer to process. So if only the 360p option is available, come back in 30 minutes or so and I hope it gets better. Thank you and sorry about that! ^_^

This is such a fantastic video, I’ve learned so much! Your commentary is very valuable to me, your color choice is beautiful, and your looseness is very calming in a way. I tend to be very detail-oriented and I’d really like to try focusing on they key areas rather than giving attention to everything (not that it’s always bad, just takes a long time).

Wow! I love how you accomplish the initial wash..... I’m trying to blend from one value/color to another! Thanks for showing me, I will practice more. This demo is .... out of my league, but can be a goal. Thanks for the time you take to educate us!

Thank you ☺️ Give it a go! Most of what I paint is initially out of my league 😉🎨 Sometimes it can also take several attempts!

I love watching your videos. As I create videos for my channel I try to remember to limit the information added to my paintings. I render more than I want and your videos have helped me loosen up my style. Thanks you. Glad I subscribed!!

Great video as always Liron. Thank you for your enthusiasm dedication and generosity. I would have loved to see the effect if you would have splashed some clean water over those windows on the back building before they dried to make them more vague. Any chance you can try to interview Tim Wilmot in a future video? He is another very talented and generous watercolourist like yourself.
@LironYan
@LironYan 5 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea - and I actually did something similar with the first version (splashing some water and blurring it out with a better result). I love Tim Wilmot's videos, I may reach out in the future 😊🙏🏼

Does Isreal have watercolor societies like AWS and NWS? Just curious. And are you a member of either of those?

We have the IWS Israel branch (: But I would guess it's quite small compared to other places. And as far as I know, we don't have an independent organization like that

Hello Liron, just a data point, fyi. Not all of your fans want hour-long detailed excursions into one artist's sensibilities. Don't get me wrong - I love what you do, and how you do it. And you may even have an audience that DO want this kind of thing, but I'm out. A month or so ago, you were uncertain whether a KZbin career was your best option, worried you were losing steam or some such. Loads of loyal watchers (myself included) jumped in to say you that you are great, et ceteta, and apparently after that momentary self-doubt, you've decided to progress down a particular KZbin path, and if it works out for you, I'll be happy to hear it, but sadly it won't be my 'views' that get you there. Twenty minutes is my maximum for any tutorial, more than that and my cerebellum gets numb. I'll watch hour-long videos, of course, like anyone else. They just have to be stories, or murder mysteries, or cartoons. An hour of Liron explaining what was he thinking while he "created"? Ridiculous.

Thank you for the feedback! As I mentioned before, this is actually a temporary experiment - I decided to do 6 of these full processes (so 2 weeks' worth of vids). The next video will be a vlog concluding the experiment, and then we'll go back to the normal routine, and I'll combine the regular series and videos with occasional full processes. Plus, I just filmed an interview with an amazing artist that I hope you'll enjoy as well (: I needed to test that, but I do intend on incorporating what I learned into a more balanced schedule.

Hello grumpy if you follow as much as you say then Liron wouldn’t need to explain below !! there have been plenty of requests for full length videos that include lirons decision making as he works. As said it’s not the future it’s a much requested subject that granted bores some folk. Turn off the sound speed up play back or just skip watching that lesson. SIMPLE So knuckle wrap is not fare on liron

I agree, in some parts, some long videos are hard to keep focus on, but I can have them in the background while I do other things, more llike a podcast. Then if something comes up that I like and want to know more about I stop and watch that. Or I divide the film into smaller parts, and do things in between. For those who like long tutorials this is great explaining, watching a painting come to life, a masterclass. And for some shorter videos feels better, then they can follow him on Instagram or just watch his shorter videos here. For Liron: I think you can relax a bit, you don´t have to explain every little thing. Paint and enjoy it, you can always explain later if you want to. I hope you get what I mean. Good job on this one, it´s just great!
