Talent is just natural born fascination. Anything becomes easier to learn when it possesses many attributes you have a natural fascination for.

"Skill isn't an innate talent, but subject to... practice" Do I believe that? Well... it's simply true, by definition. Being drawn to paints might be called a talent, but learning to paint a house or a person is a skill, regardless of how long or quickly it is learned. Pick a serious, identifiable skillset. Think of the real-world infant born with that skillset... Right, they aren't born with any skillsets. They learn them. Period. As best I can tell, talent is mostly a name for commitment + success. If you are committed and fail, "he wasn't talented, poor soul". If you are committed and succeed, "well, you know, he was always talented". Can we tell the difference between someone who worked hard and achieved success, and someone who is talented and showed a gradual upward curve in success? No, or we would have done so, by now. We look at the end result and, if we like it, they were talented. If we don't, they were hacks. Was Picasso talented? Not hard to find a bunch of answers on either side.

Talent exists, hard work too. Many soccer players train very hard but there is only 1 Messi and 1 Ronaldo. They're both talented, they've both worked very hard.

Some can render subjects easily from youth, that doesn't mean others can not learn. Practice and persistence will yield results over time.

I've always been called "talented" concerning my artwork, but it is a skill you have to work very hard at, just like any other. Artists see the world differently. This is the only thing that I can really think of that might be seen as an advantage, when learning.

There is talent but it is much less important than hard work. Talent without hard work doesn't get you anywhere. 🤷🏻♀️

So would this apply to acrylic paint as well? It's water based would it come to life like the water paint does when it dries?

thats the scariest part of watercolor for me. I've just started. but with oil its not ever finished i can keep going for ever just effing around and ruining it a million times and finally get it to a point where i am happy...... watercolor. its done when its done. and that is confronting.

Great ideas, thank you. Regarding painting on an angle, how/where do you set that up? To me, it’s the first challenge.

Fantastic review! ❤ I'm considering using this for opaque paint specifically. I'm not a fan of watercolor on it so much (only if it's something with high detail or non-stylized portraits) because of the lack of tooth on the paper. I bet it'd look great for smooth watercolor painting that requires no texture.

That's easy to say when you as an artist can just focus on painting without worrying about buying art supplies or food and rent. Just saying

I always hate to edit my videos. That’s why I like live videos. No editing. I do miss your live videos. I need to mark on my calendar when to go to the other channel. I also struggle with my portraits of humans but I pray and let God guide my hand. Your painting is beautiful. I always love to hear your thoughts on the process. Thank you for taking the time to create these process videos. I do appreciate it. Enjoy your new baby and cooler weather. ❤🙏🏻
