LIRR Ronkonkoma Speedway. Hicksville area to Ronkonkoma. M7’s/M9’s/M3’s. 8/1/23

It’s a beautiful summer day to get back to being trackside in the USA after a wonderful trip to Ireland.  The LIRR Ronkonkoma Line (which is part of the Main Line) is a superbly engineered, high speed railroad. We catch many MU’s flying by crossings and some gorgeous parkland. We see M7’s/M9’s/and quite a few Budd M3’s. We also catch a couple of diesel trains.  It was a gorgeous summer day to be out and about along this super railroad section of the LIRR.

i love your videos. reminds of my time in the NYC 12 years ago. the last time I was there, I rode the Ronkonkoma line via Penn Station, to Deer Park or Wyandanch to my cousin's place in Dix Hiils. I also missed the double decker diesels to Locust Valley. Speaking of A380 for Korean Air, I was on the first KAL A380 from Incheon to JFK.

Tim, most of these seem to be 10 car trains….with GCT and Penn, are they running greater freq. with shorter trains?

Pretty much. They don’t run as many 12,car trains.
