Isn't it strange, I just was trying to convince some people that there is another very versatile female singer other than Floor Jansen, and I end up with a Dutch orchestra backing up Lisa Fischer, what more can you ask for???? I'm not in the position to ask anything from anybody, but it would be a dream come true to hear Lisa and Floor performing Live together.

I wonder what Lisa saw and rebuked.
@tbenn772 жыл бұрын
I think it had to do with the song and the fact that the woman in the song was like a prostitute ...as if someone was saying or acting like he or she rebuked the woman who was a prostitute for the sailors at the port.
@TheologicalPoet4 ай бұрын
She was rebuking the glitch in sound. Listen and you will hear it. I noticed that and thought it was so powerful. She wasn't joking. She was saying "you are not going to mess with this set! Get behind me!"

Curious to know who or what she was 'rebuking.' Perhaps someone stuffy upfront in the audience? or a tech equipment problem? A funny moment.

Look people. Whitney and Lisa are it. No better voices anywhere. There are plenty of awesome voices and Mariah is one but shes not on this level. Chaka Khan is a pillar by herself but Whitney amd Lisa did Chaka better than Chaka. They are the echelon. Only one that matches Whitney and visversa. Luther new exactly that.
@thegoose27243 жыл бұрын
No, Chaka knew this because Lisa started out with her before Luther grabbed her as a background singer. I saw Lisa live singing background and occasional lead for Chaka in 1984-85 in Japan with the I Feel For You concert. This was before she started working with Luther and the very first time I'd ever heard her name and I've followed her career every since. As fate would have it she also went by the name Zena on a club record that came out in 85-86 called On The Up Side. Luther took her on right after that and here we are today!!!!!! Out
@Parker3Curry303 жыл бұрын
@@thegoose2724 Chaka knew much later than Luther. Lisa first sang and toured with a 60's style doo wap girls group in the late 70's/ was a member of the group Change along with Luther (where they first met). They were re acquainted through a mutual friend and choreographer at qich time Luther asked her to come audition for him. In 20 ft from stardom , she talks about the girl group and Luther states how he and Lisa met in Change during a concert " live at whembley"

@thegoose27243 жыл бұрын
@@Parker3Curry30 While I won't doubt the timing of Luther and Lisa meeting however I stand on the fact that she DID NOT start working with Luther (after doing studio work for change) until after she worked with Chaka unless it is all uncredited work. SO NO MA'AM I'VE MISSED NOTHING. Now it's fixed!!!!!! Out
@Parker3Curry303 жыл бұрын
@@thegoose2724 No you messed it up more! The point was Luther recognized Lisa's talent. You want to say Chaka did. Change happened way before Lisa worked with Chaka! In the group cha nge is where Luther first heard Lisa sing....that was before she worked with Chaka...from.....change Luther was already familiar with Lisa's voice and talent. To take it back further they both did studio work with Roberta Flack. Only Luther toured with her not Lisa. Thats before Change and Chaka. Let that sink in, correct t and update your info......looks like u missed a lot...following so closely. 🙄🙄🙄😆😆😆
