My darling, Lisa, I have been following you for almost 40 years now. Your voice is magnificent. I’ve been there when you came to Greece. Thank you for everything our love. The last time I saw you was with my best friend that then died from cancer. Thank you so much.

Pure music, alchemy. It comes to me that when you have searched and searched for this one genre which at once stops you in your tracks and you no longer have to listen, because it is as if this music has always been a part of your deeper self, deep inside your Soul, then suddenly I can sense this music as an extension of all that is good and holy. Quite, listen, I have become spellbound.. Bless you!

I wish I could tell Lisa how much her music means to me, but just like her music I cannot really put it in words. It's like a detachment from my body, an ethereal place where I can watch the world in awe, where even the bad things have a beauty in them. Sometimes it feels as if the music was always there but Lisa discovered it and made it available... Thank you!

very well put into words. we all feel the same. although the interpretation and imagery is different for us all. you can hear so many so many vast cultures and empires through this sound if sound it can be called. feels like it existed long before time itself...her craft.

@Neurozumim8 жыл бұрын
+Arch Yeomans Are you sure about this? From what source do you know that it's occitan? Or do you have the lyrics? This is the first album by Lisa Gerrard or Dead Can Dance that I have a hard time pinpointing what is its overall theme, because I can't find any satisfying interview or text giving hints. It seems to deal a lot with the sea(s), but then, is that the "twilight kingdom"? The sea? I thought she meant some geographical space up north where it's literally twilight all year long (and maybe the land on the sleeve was inundated from the melting arctic, I had a whole scenario), but now I'm certain that it doesn't correspond with the land on the sleeve art (I don't know where the sleeve and video were shot but it's not the north, the video made that obvious). Ok, I disgressed.
@bulledereve98242 жыл бұрын
@@ArchYeomans It doesn't sound like what we call "langue d'oc" ... I think Lisa uses once again her own language, idioglossia.

Lisa Gerard’s music is the path made for me to bring forth my book. Nearly every song from both her and her band, Dead Can Dance, formed the add Tory that will be unforgettable when you decide to read it. She is a character in my second book. But to get to the second, you must first read the first. It is called the Mourikis Project: the Path of the Outsider. Part and Volume I. In this story, these songs were always with her since “the Era of Divinity.”

road1rash "My only regret is I never got to see you perform live with The DCD" Oh this so much. They did come to Chile, but not to Brazil, where I live. At the time, a trip to Chile was out of question, so I was really disappointed when news of the South American leg ot their latest tour (I think) came to me. Hopefully, we'll get to see them in the future, friend.

+Fractal Dragons I also want to see them. They performed in a moment where my life was very turbulent. Now I am afraid it might not happen again. But never seeing them live and wanting to be a part of that can also be a beautiful regret, a testament to that time is a dictator and that we are running out of it.

Hopefully, Lisa, you keep your way of expressing music, that it doesn't change because your gender is the one that enters the psyche and that is what needs to be transformed in society. Being the illusion myself and others, your music transcends culture, fashion, slogan and dogma, I hope you know the non-monetary value of the music you make, thank you.
