I was born and grew up in the 80s and clearly remember these songs playing on the radio. Sometimes I ask myself with all the spoils we have today, the Internet, 5G Smartphones, instant communication , social media, KZbin; could I live in the 80s? Hell yes! There honestly is nothing really necessary here now, besides, my parents were young, my dad was alive. Yes, I would go through withdrawal. What an amazing voice! Hearing Lisa Velez sing acappella in person is a goosebump-inducing, life-transforming experience. Decades ago, an up-and-coming promoter allowed me to be the photographer for the event-capturing moments before, during, and after the show. Listening to Lisa Lisa backstage, doing vocal warmups and voice gymnastics before the show opened gave me goosebumps. I had never heard anyone sing so accurately and so perfectly in my entire life. Her voice is a musical instrument, reminiscent of the voices that inspired stories of the mystical sirens. It's truly mesmerizing to hear. She should have become one of music industry's greatest divas. She can genuinely sing without relying on electronics to pretend. TY Lisa Lisa for being.
