You know what interesting they don’t call Hip-Hop (African/ Black hip-hop) it’s just called hip- hop. But because of marketing reasons it’s labeled…etc. wasn’t Shannon the original Freestyle singer 1983 “ Let the music play”? N that sound electronic beat machine sound was popularized by Africa Bambaataa 1982 taken from German group called Kraftewerk that’s been doing electro since 1970’s. Not to dismiss the contribution of Latino’s I’m hip- hop Prince whipper whip,Dj Charlie chase, Crazy Legz, Ken swift,Lee Quinones, Prince Markie Dee, Ruby Dee, but originally it was all blacks at first early 70’s. When the mid 70’s to early 80’s when you seen more Latinos into it. Ask the original BBOYs n DJ’s from the Bronx they know. I love freestyle it was my jr. High n highschool music n Lisa Lisa n cult jam was the coldest with it! She just had that P.R. Nasal voice it worked n rocked with the band!!! 💜’d her n cult jam!!!! Especially her she was my muse so fine n talented. I thought she was older than me come to find out we were same age! 😍😍😍
