Lisa Marie Presley Memorial: A statement from Riley Keough 'A letter to my mama'

Ben Smith-Petersen reads a statement from his wife, Riley Keough, who is the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley at a memorial service on Jan. 23, 2023.
Lisa Marie Presley was 54 when she died January 12, after being hospitalized for a medical emergency.
Lisa Marie Presley will be buried next to her son, Benjamin Keough, who died in 2020. Other members of the Presley family, including Elvis, are also buried at Graceland.

We lost our dad during the same timeframe five years ago. It was also raining like crazy and the day we came home without him the sun was shining after three days of solid rain. And we knew he was ok. Beautiful words from Riley.

I am so touched that her husband read this for her. When my husband passed, I had written him a letter like this. Thanking him for all that he had done for me, especially showing me what "real love" was all about. It was read at his memorial service, after the obituary that I had written for him. I, as his widow, could not read it aloud (too heartbroken 💔) so, the pastor read it for me. Riley's husband reading this to Lisa Marie, her mom, for her, brought back all those memories. You only get one final time, if you're lucky, to let your loved one know what they meant to you, and what all they brought into your life. I don't think that Lisa Marie was close to her mother Priscilla for quite a few years and they always had a strange relationship as we know Priscilla sent Lisa Marie into the cult and she knew Elvis did not want her anywhere near it Yes Lisa Marie was very close to her children and gave them the love that she was deprived of And as we know Priscilla did not let her only daughter get cold in her grave until she was in fighting for money and has tried her best to destroy everything that Lisa Marie put in her will and she even let that creep ex Lockwood come to the funeral and she knew Lisa Marie never wanted him near her

Lisa I miss your dad Elvis I have loved him ever since the first time I heard him on the radio and I was very young..I said he was great because he never swore in his songs..and i have loved him every day since. ...when I was married my husband listened to me playing your music and believe me every day I played your music (and my husband and I were married 47years years until he died in 2014. .I also miss my husband very much ... . Elvis I now have an Elvis tattoo and will always love you. God bless and keep you in ( . Heaven ) and may God keep you safe
