The fact that Apollo then gets an attack debuff move that was clearly inspired by Gideon's steel ball tricks makes it even better. Oh dear God, saying it out loud... was that a Johnny Joestar/TUSK ACT 4 moment? Apollo DOES have more than a few similarities to Old Joseph, and that's not even touching upon the fact that Gideon fights with _spinning steel balls._

I held off partially to buff everyone's agility with Lucius and partially to see if anything unique would happen if you hold off on attacking him.

Welp, best advice I can provide for you on how to do this fight (assuming the issue you're talking about is beating Balrog and not some game-breaking bug) is to constantly make sure your gang members' health bars are topped off via Lucius's Spotlight/Limelight abilities and Apollo's Beer Bash skill to keep everyone's health topped off, all while making sure to use Gideon (and then Apollo when you can._.) to keep Balrog's damage nerfed. Oh! And make sure to Pipe Bomb during the beginning phase of the fight to make sure everyone's agility is above Balrog's, as well as using Body Rock when possible and no one's health is looking dire. It's difficult, but certainly doable if you play your cards right.

@NostalgicBlondeDude I've done it in like, 5 minutes. I've heard people say this fight is super difficult but I did it itemless on my second attempt.

@@tireiron3452 Well, I don't know what to tell you there. I _did_ spend several turns doing nothing to increase everyone's agility and to see if not attacking Balrog for several turns would do something. Either way, I'm glad I managed to beat him on my first attempt and take no shame in it taking a half hour.

@NostalgicBlondeDude yeah, I get that. I just found it surprising how many people were gassing this fight up when it was one of the easiest fights I can remember. Hardest fight I've ever done was probably pain mode itemless hair club
