Scary, I live in Austin. Might have passed her on the st. We are almost the same age, "The niece of space pioneer Dr. Wernher von Braun, Elizabeth von Braun, died Saturday in Gurley. She was 46. Known to friends around Huntsville as Lisa von Braun, she was the daughter of Magnus von Braun -- the German rocket scientist who contacted U.S. Army troops in 1945 to arrange the surrender of Wernher von Braun's rocket team. Lisa von Braun moved to North Alabama in spring 1999, eventually settling in Gurley. She moved here from Austin, Texas, said Konrad Dannenberg".
