What an absolute gem of old television entertainment. I can't believe I never knew there was a Mary Tyler Moore hour. Although I was 19 and T.V. was at the bottom of my list of things to do. LOL I think Lisa would be honored to know she had a fan so devoted they would put together such a tribute to her.

I remember seeing one of these as a kid but remember very little about it. After watching this one, I must say that yes, it was kind of cheesy and near the end when the variety show was well past its prime. However, in all honesty, it wasn't horrible or cringeworthy as it had an excellent cast and the story line while going a little overboard was actually funny. Granted you have to look at it for its day.

MTM is not from Illinois.... she was born in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York City, to Marjorie (née Hackett) and George Tyler Moore. Her father was a clerk. Her Irish-Catholic family lived in a rental apartment in Brooklyn's Flatbush neighborhood, then the family later lived in a rented apartment at 144-16 35th Avenue in Flushing, Queens.

Mary actually looks better, younger, healthier HERE than on the MTM Show. This show seems to combine elements of all her other shows: Dick Van Dyke Show, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Mary... And Michael Keaton is great! LOL

I watched this a few times. There was only 11 episodes I think. And though I love MTM and she had a good cast, this show stunk like an angry skunk!

Fantastic Mary had two failed shows after The Mary Tyler Moore Show. The shows Mary and this one. I wonder if viewers couldn’t accept a different role for her after the classic MTM Show.

Mary was magic when she was on Dick Van Dyke and the Mary Tyler Moore half hour sitcoms. In both cases there was a flawless cast that had true chemistry and could draw an audience into believing the characters were real. Unfortunately the hour long programs just didn't work. It's a shame because she really did turn the world on with her smile.

I so miss the amazing character actors that really were the meat and potatoes of sitcoms. This show really couldn't have lasted very long. It's a shame I think the sitcom mixed with the Variety was a great idea. Actually similar to many episodes of the Dick Van Dyke Show
