Lisa let me help you with your "iceberg machine". The reason it is icing up like that is because the door seal is no longer effective and is not sealing air from getting inside. You can replace the door seal and it will not ice up so quickly. As usual, another lovely glimpse of life in Russia!

Hi Lisa and greetings from Germany! I really enjoy watching your videos, especially your renovation videos. I'm always amazed at what a thorough deep clean and a little paint can achieve! The apartment immediately shines in a completely different light. And yes, everything may be quite old, but somehow your home has a very special, magical charm thanks to your efforts! Some of the colors themselves are quite bold, but I think they go so wonderfully together! Even I, as a man, really like it! On your fridge, you should perhaps check the fit of the door and the seal: If new ice forms again so quickly, this is usually an indication that either the door is no longer correctly adjusted and therefore does not close properly, or the seal can no longer do its job as intended. And there are also new "modern" fridges that would fit wonderfully in your kitchen or with this great look, at least in my opinion: Either one with a retro look or perhaps even a special refrigerator with a door that is reminiscent of the design of the front mask of an old VW bus, ideally in a beautiful pastel color. Maybe you've even seen something like this yourself!? Apart from that, I like your attitude of not throwing away everything that is still usable or functional just because it's nice and old. 😊💛🌹

Should move the fridge away from the window. The seal might not be that good around the door and the difference in temp from the outside or humid air is coming into contact with the freezers element. But if you move the fridge inside (maybe swapping places with the stove) it won't eliminate but reduce the ice build up because the fridge won't be subject to swings in temp or be in contact with warm humid air. You might want to inquire about a seal for that refrigerator door and make sure your settings aren't set to max. Love the patio and the new updates you've done. You really done a good job on your apartment.❤

Dear Lisa, I love this video! The FREEZER part of your refrigerator needs rubber foam trim around the door edge (or where it closes upon) to seal it from leaking air, which contains the moisture that turns to frost, then to ice. There are sometimes TAPE made of this rubbery seal and you only need to clean the surface, (use alcohol) dry it, and apply the tape to seal the little door. You need only scissors and cleaning supplies. Make sure there are no air leaks to stop the frost development. I LOVE the colors in the kitchen! Please do not change! The colors look "retro" AND new! Very cool. GOOD WORK! DO NOT STOP! Hello from Texas!

I totally relate to what you are saying about getting started to do renovations. I have about $800.00 odd dollars worth of very good paint sitting in my garage. It has been there for 4 - 5 years. Did all the research and planning, bought all the paint and tools/equipment to get the job done well. Painted 7 doors and their architraves and the rest of the house remains. As soon as you start doing the rooms, the whole house is thrown into full on turmoil. This means clearing furniture, sanding everything down, getting the place spotless even before you start. So I can relate - big time. The great thing about motivating yourself to do all this work is it is like a huge meditative cleanse of everything. You will feel so clear in your mind after you finish your newly refurbished home. Famous last words for me - I just have to do it - which is going to take 3 weeks as a bare minimum and one huge upheaval of everything. Very well done - you can feel proud of yourself and now feel much clearer in the mind living in your Moscow apartment.

Good work overall. Beware the racks get rusted spots. By painting over the rusted areas the paint may come off later. It's best to remove the rust first with a rust remover gel.

Your freezer door just needs a new rubber seal, as the old one surrounding the edge has completely flattened allowing outside cooler air to interact with the freezer section of it. So, you could stick on a new rubber seal that is flat enough to allow your freezer door to close completely! I lot of people do like the retro look that matches the look of their property. So, do what ever that matches your style and to heck with anyone else’s opinion because it is your apartment! It is good to clear out & repaint what is salvageable and scraping down & repainting walls and wooden facias will certainly help to prevent mould and stop wood rotting!

I lived in a remote village (town) and moving to an apartment here in the USA was quite a challenge and even more being 9 years old. Living alone is very difficult and kudos to your efforts! Lisa it looks like your freezer door might have a little leak staying open and that might cause the iceberg to develop. You may also want to get a foam paint roller to get a nice even smooth layer of paint. Great 👍🏼 job Lisa !😀

Btw people, the municipal hot water is shut off throughout Russia in the summer for maintenance of the facilities (boilers) Those who can afford an electric/gas water heater, have them installed in their homes.
