Your video brings me back to Phi Phi Island been there 4 times. Funny thing when we were in Thailand on Koh Phi Phi Island when the coronavirus hit. The police told all tourist on the island that the ferry boat was shutting down within a couple of days and there would be no boats taking anyone back to land because the island was in quarantine. Also the police said anyone could stay as long you have money. So we stayed for almost 4 months. Your video at the end type out showing private boat tour for 2 people is $45.41. I did pick up that that you two shared the boat for 6 hours with another couple total cost around $90 for 4 people. I just don't want people to get angry when they are given another amount for a 6 hour private boat for 2 people really cost between $70 to $100.

Hello. Me and a friend are visiting Phuket in about three weeks time. And we also plan to visit Phi Phi. When does the tour start in the morning and when does it finish. Do you think it is possible to take a ferry from Phuket to Phi Phi. Take the tour like you did. And take a ferry back in the evening to Phuket. Or do you have to spend the night in Phi Phi? Regards from Sweden....
@LisaAndJosh2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! we did a 6 hour boat day, there were also 3 hour boat trips as well though. The ferries from Phuket to Phi Phi are maybe 2 hours long, so it'd be a long day and might be rushing it. Koh Phi Phi is a beautiful island to stay the night, if you are forced to :) It might help to check with a local ferry schedule or check with the agent we booked with (Google link is in the description above). She was awesome!

I did a Ko Phi Phi island hopping tour like this and did it with good weather gone bad. Our last stop was Maya Bay, but we did not land there because of a sudden rainstorm that forced us to stop in the opposite side of the island. Maya Bay was still the plan so our group of 10 people swam about 20-30 meters to the island and walked through a bit of its forest. Thankful it was a short walk and it ended up being one of those moments when I thought "This is why I travel." When we arrived, I got an overwhelming feeling of wonder that still stays with me until today as we walked towards the Beach. It was empty of people with clean turquoise water and no boat in sight. The rains even stopped and the sun peeped out for a bit. It was beautiful and I could have cried. Our group stayed an hour but I could have stayed there all day if it was allowed. Apparently there were quite a few factors that happened for this perfect event to have happened. For one, I came during shoulder season when the monsoon rains were frequent and sudden. Second was only a handful of boats left Ko Phi Phi to do tours because of the expected rains and our tour was one of the last to arrive at MAya Bay. I guess another is that this was happening on the same day as the Full Moon Party in Ko Phangan so not to many backpackers were around at the time. Lastly, before going to Ko Phi Phi, I was stuck in Ao Nang, one of the ports near Ko Phi Phi, for a couple of day because of bad weather. (I won't recommend staying here if you can avoid it.) It comes down to perfect timing and rough waves, but this experience exceeded my low expectations of large crowds and trash everywhere. Apparently, one of my travel friends came a week later than me to Maya Bay and it was swarming with people/ I am glad you guys managed to get to this part of Thailand now despite Covid. While I am hoping the tourism will pick up, you are very lucky to see all these islands without the heavy distraction of crowds. Happy Travelling, Josh and Lisa!
@LisaAndJosh2 жыл бұрын
Wow, this is an awesome story, Nino! Got chills reading it and am so happy you got to experience Maya Bay in a very special way. Absolutely love when plans and travels align in a perfect way like this. Even when we expect the worst (rain, bad weather, rough current, etc.) mother nature was in your favor and showed you the best of Maya Bay. Thanks for sharing!! "This is why I travel"---yes!!!
I am from India and we have monkeys in lot of places..i can tell you never try to be friendly with monkeys..they are dangerous and not equal to a steay dog or cat. Never feed a monkey otherwise ot gets a habbit of attacking people for food
@petermoyse2 жыл бұрын
You shoulda seen the coral in Maya Bay before The Beach came out. It was alive not all bleached out like it is today. There were large rainbow parrot fish, barracuda and shoals of other colourful parrot fish moving from one brain coral to another, feeding. And the antler corals were amazing. Last time I went, they were all broken. Also, last time I went (about 4 years ago) I got a really bad skin reaction. A doctor told me at the clinic on Phi Phi that there was a lot of human faecal bacteria in the water because there were too many resorts and therefore too many visitors to the island. Apparently, now the Thai tourism board has banned anymore resorts being built on Phi Phi. But who knows!? Corruption is so rife in the Thai government.
