I wanna cry. I went to Phi Phi last week. The storm came in for 3 days. The last day which is the departure day the sun decided to shone so I stayed an extra day just to vidit Maya Bay only because IT IS MY DREAM since watching THE BEACH. But Maya Bay was closed due to big waves. My bad luck 😭😭😭

It’s a good reason for you to go back again 😁 I went there last Dec and Maya Bay was still closed so I’m going back there again for sure and will step on The Beach this time 😁😁😁

Awesome video I have done the Phi Phi day trips quite a few times and went to Maya Bay pre-closure when it was packed but I went there at 7.30am where there was barely anyone there and left around 9.00am before the mad rush. On my 3rd visit to Thailand in Feb 2018, I did stay at Ao Nang (did a day trip to Railey from there) for a few days, then 1 night in Koh Yao Noi, then 3 nights at Phi Phi Don Island (which I did the Phi Phi day trip including Bamboo Island), then one night in Koh Lanta, then 3 nights in Koh Lipe in the deep south. On my 4th visit to Thailand, I stayed in Ao Nang again and did the day trip to Phi Phi again but this time Maya Bay was closed. Glad to see it reopened it again

I'm now staying at Phi Phi Island 🏝. Yesterday I went to see the Maya beach ⛱. It was so beautiful but waves were so high in the mid noon and the boat man hurriedly came to the main island 🥲. And in September it was closing time to save the beach by government. But it was a beautiful experience for me 😇🥰.

I'm from the UK and I taught diving in Thailand for a year while my wife finished Uni (we were not married then) I spent every single day diving and swimming and it was the best days of my life. I would like to take my son there before he grows tired of going on holiday with his parents. On another note, I often did night dives or snorkels with the other instructors and we would free dive with the little black tips, they swim right at you, we would go down about 5 meters or so and just hang there and move the water quickly to product glitter (I forget what exactly cause the sea to do this, I think it might be plankton) sometimes the little sharks would nudge us but they don't attack at least not that I ever saw.

I've been to Phi Phi Islands incl. Maya Bay/Beach 3 times, in 2013, 14 and 15, before they did that temporary closing. When arriving to Maya Bay, we came directly to the bay - you didn't, you came to the other side of the island, and had to walk to Maya Beach. I know the area well, since we were walking around both sides of the island all 3 times we were there, and I have it on film. It's one of the most beautiful places I've been to, and I've been to around 50 countries. Btw, diving in Thailand was a disappointment (I'm a licensed scuba diver, and have dived 7 times in Thailand). Little fish to see, and almost no vegetation, though we always saw baby sharks. The most positive thing about it, was the temperature - always at least 25 degrees celcius in the water.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! I'm not sure if they'll do the transfer from Phuket or if you have to transfer first and then they can meet you at the pier to take off. Problem may be timing to get there early enough. I would WhatsApp message their number on the Google listing and see what they can do for you. Good luck and enjoy the Thai islands!

And on one other occasion I went scuba diving in Maya Bay (best experience ever) Would be sad if I ever made it out there again and was told no swimming allowed, hope this changes
@largol33t1 Жыл бұрын
I'm surprised people are allowed to swim on the other side of the island. That's nice but remember, there are sharks in these waters. In fact, in the movie, several people sneaking into the beach were attacked by sharks!
@Van_Wilder Жыл бұрын
@@largol33t1 that’s a very good point - I guess back then when swimming was allowed, it was assumed that the sharks no longer were in those waters (the bay) due to the 1000’s upon 1000’s of tourist descending upon the island every day, with everyone swimming and the 100’s of tail-boat and speedboat engines in those waters. I remember when they did shut it down for a few years, all the nature conservationists and local government commented on how the darks have returned since closing off the island to the public
