I absolutely love watching the two of you. You two inspired my stop at the Ho'omaluhia garden this past August, and then I learned Josh was from Wisconsin and I was hooked. The more amazing thing is, I decided to plan a trip to Japan just 3 days prior to your posting of the "3 days in Tokyo on a Budget" video. I could not believe the timing. Now I feel like I am traveling with you again as I plan my next trip. Looking forward to it :)

Awesome video, guys! Great pacing, editing, and food b-roll. Interesting concept too. Restaurants with fewer Google reviews are also probably less likely to cater to tourists, since people leaving reviews on Google are more likely to be foreigners. So this could be a good way to make sure you’re eating like a local rather than a tourist!🙂 (at least in places where Google reviews aren’t widely used by locals)

The issue with going to the more local mom and pop restaurants in Japan is that those places will always have someone smoking cigarettes and for me that's a big turn off.

Hi✋ This is the first comment. I'm Japanese and I enjoy your trip. You introduced Osaka as KUIDAORE place. That means people go bankrupt because of spending too much monry for food. And Kyoto is KIDAORE. That means they spend for clothes a lot. Please enjoy✌️

1. Loved it. 2. Osaka just for the cheesecake. (All the other bites too.) 3. I just knew that cheesecake would not last the night. 4. Is it always that crowded? Are there less crowded times of the year? 5. I think I got The Vapors. Starts singing whilst waiting for next episode: "I'm turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so..."

When we were there last month, we learned that smoking is no longer allowed, but there are exceptions if you have good ventilation and put up a sign to let everyone know it's allowed. If I recall correctly. 😊
