She is so dang cute!! Also I love seeing Lisa do makeup on REAL people- with real aging skin, real redness, real creases, it’s so refreshing! I’m tired of watching people apply cakes of foundation onto smooth, unrealistic, Botox faces. I mean do you, but I can’t learn anything about how to do my own makeup that way most people don’t have perfect faces. Lisa always keeps it real. ❤️

I used to be overly conscious of the oiliness of my skin and the “baby fat” in my cheeks, but they really seem to be the keys to sustained youthfulness. I love seeing the B&A shots at the end, because you really see that everyone ends up looking like a beautifully enhanced version of themselves just as Lisa said. It’s not sorcery, it’s artistry ❤️

This was a delight to watch. The conversation had me feeling like I did backstage listening to famous actors talk about their lives in theatre. What a joy that was! Decades ago, I performed on stage. In those days, the older actors put a dot of red lipstick at the inner corners of their eyes. I think it was a holdover from when footlights were used like in vaudeville (if I’m remembering what I was told). I never did it, because I could never see that it added anything. I mean, I’d be in the house during dress, and I couldn’t see that it added anything to their appearance. But the split, thick black liner at the outer corners with clown white between the lines definitely helped eyes look more visible and bigger. Back to the dots near the tear ducts…I don’t remember when it was that stage actors changed to white dots. I do, however, remember the first dress when I tried it. The note I received was that I needed to fix my makeup because I looked crosseyed. In a 4,000 seat house, a dot made that much difference. That’s when I learned the power of makeup. Thank you for letting me share in that world again for a few minutes.
