This looks really interesting. I create my designs by hand using watercolour on cold pressed paper. I then scan my elements into Photoshop and manipulate to create patterns. Will my process work with your templates?

Hi! It will definitely work if your motifs are isolated on a transparent background. In other words, your scanned artwork has been prepared as separate individual elements that you can then place using the templates as your guide. Hope that helps!

So glad you enjoyed the tutorial! I create them in the Procreate version of the kit then imported into Photoshop. You could definitely create them directly in Adobe Photoshop, I used a smooth inking brush to draw them 😊

@@Lisaglanz Thanks for the nice tutorial! Did you draw the botanical in the 4000 pixel Procreate version? So I have to increase the size of the illustration for using it in Photoshop?

@@ml3009 Yes I used the larger template in Procreate. I actually then imported it into Adobe Illustrator to vectorise, then when I created the tutorials I imported it into Photoshop as well. But you can import it directly into Adobe Photoshop. If you want to keep the pattern tile the same for Procreate and Adobe Photoshop, you can reduce the Adobe Photoshop version by 80%, or increase your Procreate drawings by 125% when you place in the original Adobe Photoshop canvas size.

Unfortunately not. The kit includes templates for Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Designer and Procreate. Hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions at all, please don't hesitate to let me know.

For the purposes of this tutorial I created this particular artwork in Procreate - to save time in creating all the different software versions for this kit 😅 But you can definitely create the same style of artwork in Adobe Photoshop using a drawing pad. Hope that helps!

Drawing in Adobe Photoshop or using the templates? The templates make pattern designing much easier. It takes out all the guesswork on where to place your motifs. Using Adobe Photoshop to draw on the other hand does take a little bit of practice but that would be the same for all drawing apps 😊

the templates look hard to use.... what I hate about PS is the using of the X and the Y and doing the numbers, does it make that much easier? there seem to be many steps to do, does it come with clear instructions? @@Lisaglanz
