We feel like we know this city well, so in this Lisbon travel guide we’re going to show you around what we think are some of the best attractions. We only had 3 days in the city this time around, so this Lisbon itinerary will be perfect for any of you visiting on a long weekend escape.
We kicked off our first morning with a ride on Lisbon’s most iconic tram line:#28 bound for panoramic vistas and a hilltop castle. After postcard perfect views looking down over Alfama we went towards the castle, with a little detour offering a bit of street art.
St George Castle is a Moorish castle that looks down over the historic centre and the Tagus River. It’s one of the main tourist landmarks in the city and you get great views of Lisbon.
We circled back to visit the Jeronimos Monastery. Construction of this monastery was ordered by King Manuel, who selected the religious order of Hieronymite monks to occupy the monastery.
Pastéis de nata were created by the monks at the Jerónimos Monastery, and seeing as we were right next door, this was a very logical stop. After browsing at the Sunday Market we walked over to the Santa Justa Elevator, which is the only street lift in Lisbon for public service.

Looking forward to the upcoming family trip videos! Love love love those egg tarts! They are amazing! We have an egg tart chain bakery in Shanghai. I buy one egg tart almost every time I pass one of those chains. They are already pretty good, but I had better ones in Macau. After I had the very good egg tarts in Macau, it made me really want to go to Lisbon to eat the original egg tarts for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

A little tip for your next lisbon adventure. Take the train to Sintra and from there a over 100 year old tram that goes directly to Apple Beach praças das maças (it's a unforgettable 40 minutes ride).

Lisbon is a lovely city. One of my favorites. However, I found it a little difficult to get around with a cane so I'm using the hop on hop off bus as well as Uber. I plan on taking tram 28 up to the castle but I am walking around up there.

I really agree with a lot of what you suggested here. I would suggest that on the third day you would go to the most modern side of Lisbon(Parque das Nações/where I live). There are also 5x bigger flea markets through out the city but that one does respect the style. And finally the people that were dancing and playing in black are known has university students called trajados. They have a to go through tasks to earn the robes.

Depends on the university and what is asked from them. Sometimes they are asked to do horrible tasks other times is just small fun things. This is what inspired the robes from Harry Potter

Great tips guys I’m excited I’ll actually be there in a day! I’ve been traveling all across Northern Portugal so it’ll be nice to visit a new spot! Have you had a chance to do any day trips that you could recommend (besides Sintra Castle haha)

Hm.. speaking of viewpoints, there's 2 rather new ones (both paid) that are worth a look. The Rua Augusta arch has one now where you can actually go up to the arch. It gives a nice view of the street (especially if a tram is passing by) and the area around but it's more of a "localized" view. The other is at the Amoreiras Shopping Center rooftop. This one... imagine if you had the castle view but on a more central location, worth it if you ask me. Have you considered visiting the neighboring town of Sintra? There's a couple of castles there as well :P plus being a nice looking town.

Great video! Have you guys ever visited the Parque das Nações/Expo98 area? It is the most "modern" part of the city, it is great for river-side walks and has great restaurants. It is also where you can find the Oceanarium (largest aquarium in Europe), the Casino, the Science Museum, the largest concert venue in Lisbon, etc. I really recommend a visit, it is one of the first stops in the Metro coming from the airport.

Really nice! Handsomely shot and unpretentious. Saw the Porto one, also very good! We're leaving in exactly a month for Portugal, first time. Porto and Lisbon--2 weeks. We'll have a car for the first week, Lisbon is the second--with a night's stopover in Elvora. As we are 82 and 72, we're kind of worried about steps--a little hard for us now. How did your parents manage? If you come to Israel, which is still amazing after 50 years, say ''hi''! We can guide you to some of our special places.

My recommendation is Bistrô Bom Gosto in Praceta 25 de Abril, 130 in Vila Nova de Gaia. Nice restaurant with brazilian and portuguese food.
