When my sister’s Godmother, Gladys, passed, her daughters ordered a glad bouquet for her services. The glads were so amazing on such short notice (mid June). I actually cried at the slight of the glads because Gladys grew glads in her garden that I remember as a kid.

I read a blog recently that said if you dip Dahlia stems in hot water (160-180°F) for a few seconds, you will increase the vase life by 2-3 days. I will try it this summer (January) when our dahlias are in bloom. I do know that treatment has been used with Chysanthemums for years....

You are hilarious, girl! I thoroughly enjoy all the videos of the amazing flowers you are cultivating, but it is your spontaneous and 'mad' girl presentation that really hooks me and differentiates you from the other farmers. Keep up the terrific work, Nicole!

Your daughter with the sunflowers brought a smile to my day. :) You are so fortunate to have grandparents still with you..... I loved this so much -especially the portion with your Grandpa and you talking about your Grandparents. My grandparents too were inspirations for me and I practically grew up on their farm. My grandma could grow anything and in their more advanced years my grandpa was so meticulous at helping to tend to all the beautiful flowers on their property and so proud for garden tours during visits. I miss them dearly.

Little did I know.... Also ,even if you may have friends that don’t believe in your passion for your flower garden I can understand how defeating that may feel! I saw that video . We have to feel that hurt, to make our confidence for our passion stronger!! I hope next year to make a little flower bed for the first time, I don’t have gorgeous space like you have. When is the best time to plant the bulbs directly outside? Are they perennial? Should I dig them out in Fall and keep them where? Thank you! Love your videos! ♥️
@FlowerHillFarm4 жыл бұрын
Hi! They are a perennial but are only winter hardy to a USDA zone 7, so we have to lift the bulbs and plant again in the spring! So, I always plant in early spring. They are super easy to fall in love with 🥰
