Adam Lipiński Kerber has a German mother and Polish father. Born in Poland, grown up in Germany. She had an offer to play for Polish federation but refused and stated: "I feel German." Polish media critized her for that. Lisicki's parents are both of German heritage, lived in Poland after 2nd World War and emigrated to Germany when Poland opend its borders in the 70s. Petkovic is the only one of these three that has no German roots. Still she lives in Germany since she was 6 months old: "I'm more German than anything else." - Her quote. It's not up to you to decide what these woman want to be. It's their decision.

One doen't get to "decide" one's ethnicity. I can't decide to be Japanese. Petkovic cannot decide to be German, assuming that to be German still means something. She's a foreigner who happens to live in FRG.

Philippe de Herte I don't give a fuck about about ethnicity. My father is Finnish, my mother is Swedish. I was born in Northern-Germany and have spent most of my life there so far. I have German citizenship and consider myself a part of this nation. So what am I? I am German! No matter what people like you say about it. Categorizing people on ethnicity is insane... not to speak of the fact that most people these days barely have just one ethnicity anymore. And I'm happy it's that way...

Man hat die scheisse gespielt heute. War noch schlechter als diese Engländerin die gar kein Tennsi spielen konnte. Fast jeder Ball ging ins Netz oder ins Aus. Gerade die wichtigen.
