The Indian INS Vikramaditya is so heavily modified you'll hardly recognise that it was originally the Baku. THe Baku was a hybrid carrier which carried not only aircraft but a whole lot of anti-ship and anti-surface missiles as the Russians intended it to be able to operate solo as they could not build so many carriers plus the escort ships to protect them to be able to challenge American aircraft carrier numbers. The Baku had a smaller flight deck because of this and it operated VSTOL aircraft that can land and take off vertically like the Queen Elizabeth does. THe Indian NAvy wanted a full blown aircraft carrier and because of the lesser number of carriers needed could have proper escort ships for each carrier so the missiles and guns were removed from the Baku and that whole front section was also made part of the flight deck and a take off ramp was added so that aircraft may take off more easily. So now the Indian NAvy uses normal non vertical take off planes off of what is now a much more conventional carrier. As a matter of fact, the Indian NAvy has been operating carriers since way before the SOviets. India has been operating carriers since 1961, way before the Soviets or Chinese had them but we usually just bought foreign carriers and just recently did we build our own carrier called the INS Vikrant which is very similar in size to the VIkramaditya, the ship is currently in sea trials and will join the force soon. THank you to whoever took the time to read that long string of info.

@@Lemurion287 The 2 British aircraft carriers are not comparable, I think you know the limits of the Queen Elizabeth Class but you twist reality to please you. (I warn I use google translate) The Charles de Gaulle is nuclear-powered, so it can navigate the globe without refueling, it has a catapult that allows it to take off radar planes and fully loaded fighter planes (thus with the maximum of fuel and weapons), it carries more planes than the Queen Elizabeth, it has neither nuclear propulsion nor catapult. You must use very expensive F35s rather than cheaper and more efficient Eurofighter Typhoons, and your fleet is too small to form 2 full groups. They have around 45 large vessels, out of a total fleet of ~500, which are capable of operating multiple aircraft for military purposes. More vessels are always under construction as replacements or to expand capabilities. Many nations have built vessels in recent years which may be modified to operate 5th generation VSTOL aircraft. Japan has four DDH "helicopter destroyers" which are in fact light carriers with full flight decks.
