Is there a platform you would recommend for someone who has no experience and is looking for some training . Before i start out on my own I need to have some hands on training. Also Im in Illinois so it seems my options are limited.

Yes, that’s a typo on the Notarize website. They pay $5 for the first seal and $1 for each next one in the same session. As for their platform training and certification, it isn’t difficult, but it takes a long time to go through all the training modules. It’s slightly annoying that the platform’s course descriptions drastically underestimate the amount of time it’ll take to complete each training module, but it isn’t something we can’t handle-we just have to accept that it’ll take several times longer than estimated when you include all the supplemental help articles etc. On the positive side, the platform training is well-edited (contains relatively few distracting grammatical or spelling errors), richly illustrated (with both screenshots and short videos), somewhat interactive (you have to click a lot to make progress), and nicely divided into small modules interspersed with “knowledge checks” or short quizes (which naturally suggest when you can take a break from training). All in all, it’s a lot of hours though.

This was very helpful especially since I am so new with NOOOO experience and would like to start with a platform that send or give clients to gain experience. I think you mentioned at least two that were 'newbie' friendly. if you can recap quickly those platforms suitable for folks just beginning that would be helpful.

I did give BlueNotary a try as far as the setup goes, but out of curiosity--does it say how long their application reviewing process takes before receiving the email of the completion of the review? It's been 2 weeks, but I was having issues with uploading my notary certs (that part has been resolved). I'll probably reach out to them later after this. Thanks again. :)

Hey i am new as well, are you getting trained by these platfors first? i just got my NNA certification for Notary and i feel i need to be trained before finding my own clients

@@tario6994 trained on how to perform a notarization? Most platforms don’t go through that, they only teach you how to use their specific platform. If you’re looking on how to actually perform a notarization the NNA has a notary basic course but also if you type in “how to perform a notarization” on KZbin a bunch of free material comes up.

I will try the youtube route and the NNA course like you said, and maybe that will get me officially started... I have been looking for some type of actual live training and support on these platforms because I learn easier that way, but that seems like it's either not available or possibly very expensive... either way, I'll give your suggestions a try... thanks again

@@OpenBooked agreed! With talking with some platforms it’s the application process to get onboarded or even the regulations. In some states the fee to get approved can be in the 10s of thousands which smaller platforms don’t want to pay.

I am new to Blue Notary. I have completed a witness call and now when I have notifications on email and I currently have the platform up I don't see the pickup session button and I do have my eyes glued to my laptop. haha Also I have refreshed it many times. Is there something wrong or does this happen to others?

@@EvaCotto which platform? They’re all linked in the description. Typically there is get started button where you’ll sign up, create an account and upload your credentials. From there just waiting for them to approve your profile.

What if the platform is not listed for your state? Does that mean you cannot sign up?

That’s correct- a platform lists states they’re approved to operate in. If it doesn’t say it’s available in your state often times they won’t allow you to fully onboard. I will say platforms tend to not have the most up to date info all the time so if there’s a platform you really want to use I’d recommend reaching out to the company to double check.

Are their cheaper places other than identrust to buy a digital certificate? Do you have to buy a different digital certificate for each RON platform you sign up with ?

@@gregman0007 you can use the same digital certificate across multiple platforms, luckily. Identrust is really the cheapest unless a platform gives you one directly for example BlueNotary. But I don’t believe you can use theirs elsewhere.

I wanted to believe allll this was so possible. These are all half truths. Im not saying a lie but becoming a RON is FAR more expensive and difficult than these content creators make it seem. EVERY ONE of these sites has a catch. Well let me say almost. For example you get your Regular notary cert and even your RON. Welp this site also wants you to have you to have you Loan signing. This site wants you to have background that site wants 100K but not this or that. Its Crazy you just keep going back to NNA and buying more and more and more just to realize you X amount of money into this and then o ya there not much volume unless you bring you own clients.

@@2Trucks1Trail Agreed! It’s definitely more straight forward and “cheaper” if you bring your own clients. When a company provides you clients, you become an extension of their brand therefore they put in place a lot of rules to follow and abide by. I would say Notarize Genie is probably one of the best for this as they have less requirements outside of the assessment. I think all RONs should look to establish their own business and clients and use receiving clients from platforms as a cherry on top. Depending on the state you can definitely do it in a less expensive way but regardless it’ll be a $100-200 minimum to start up.

​@@sidehustleseattle absolutely agree and by no means did I mean any disrespect. I was a little shocked how many times I kept going back to NNA. I think that people need to understand that this is more on an Entreprenuer path rather than a second part time job. I think back during covid (when most of these videos were posted) it may have been that but that doesn't seem to be the case. I have EVERYTHING now.. well except my loan signing agent. And I'll be honest I'm still at a loss as to what to do next. I refuse to spend anymore money lol I guess my comments where brutal honesty to help other manage expectations. I appreciate your response. As for me I'm feeling like I just waste a whole lot of money and we all know this is definitely not the economy to be doing that in. I wrote down every site you mentioned and still it seems like an up hill battle.

@@danielbanda4564 I didn’t take it as disrespectful at all. I appreciate comments like this because you’re right, it’s not easy. You are truly going into business for yourself which is never a linear path and at times can feel like you’re at a loss. There’s a lot of marketing that has to go into your own clients and even then it can be hard. Loan signings are easier because there’s 100s of companies looking to give people work. I think that’s why people get into to. But like you said spending more money when you haven’t made any doesn’t make sense at this point. If you haven’t make a free Google my business page and see if that helps get you business. Hope all works out!
