Better was to play Rd3 and delay f3. Between a pawn move and a piece move you should most of the time choose the piece one. This is the advice that my coach keeps telling me

When I lose games in this fashion it makes me feel so bad at chess. I guess it’s just an imbalance in how natural my opponent’s correct moves come versus my own. But in the end, that doesn’t equate to a strict difference in skill
