It's just a marketing strategy. Your exhaust could've been shipped out 2 days from receiving your order. But, by forcing you to wait, it psychologically makes your devotion that much more dedicated. It's like a Virgin high school senior That's dating the high school head cheerleader. Damn buffoon It's cause there is a relatively small factory in Italy, and every exhaust is made to order like Five Guys. They have to take pipe stock, cut it, fit it, tack it, and weld it together. Then when the 500 exhausts for various bikes are done being manufactured, they will make yours. It seems like these companies have a tough time keeping with demand and expanding to meet the volume and diversity of orders. Putting you on backorder solves this problem without having $1,000 to $2,500 exhaust systems sitting on a shelf for possibly years. It's simple manufacturing, not whatever goofy ass holy ghost, virgin ring psychology you made up after consuming a medicine cabinet.
