It was matchup time again for Mike Sigel and Earl Strickland, two living legends. This time, the game was 10-Ball at the 2018 “Living Legends Challenge”. The 55-year-old Strickland, who was still on tour competing, was up against his old-time foe, the retired 63-year-old Mike Sigel. Both of these Hall of Famers had nothing to prove, but since they were mic’d, you can bet that it was entertaining!
John Bender and Bill Hendrixson shared the booth.

Mike talks a lot... BUT... I submit to you that most people misdirect their feelings about him talking so much in the incorrect way. Why? Because everyone is used to playing with people that bitch and moan etc etc, so it's a common feeling we all have. And we silently direct our displeasure with the person bitching because we know they aren't that great. Problem with using that same logic when listening to Sigel is he talks so much smack that he suspends your memory and makes you almost forget where you are and who you are watching bitch and moan. Make no mistake though... It's Mike Segal. He's for sure one of the top 10 pool players that ever lived. I say that if you can't bitch and moan all the while becoming one of the greatest pool players of all time then just go ahead and shoot me in the head now and put me out of my misery because I have no liberties to exercise if I ever become good at something to such a high level. I think he's earned the right I guess what I'm saying and out of fairness we all need to take it... because there are statistically relatively few people in the world that can make Mike Segal eat his own words.

Earl didn't want anything to do with Sigel this match. Sigel's slow play, that time out he called, talking about how his breaks compared to Earls will win tournaments every time, talking while Earl is shooting, and (above all) his claims of being the best player of all time, were nothing more than attempts to upset Earl. He's been using these tactics his whole career. He is the greatest example of poor sportsmanship in all of sports.

There's a lot going on in this game : First of all, Earl Strickland looks like he's trying to land a plane with his Lucky Air Traffic Control Headphones. And his arm looks like he's tried to Wrestle a Grizzly Bear, and do his own Medical Bandaging. And on top of it all at 30:50 you can see, a Large Gentleman wearing a Blue or Aqua shirt in the upper left corner. I've always seen Earl listed as one of the best in the history books and pundits, but Siegel rarely. The latter was able to win many tournaments in the 80s (when the participants per tournament were few), but he was not in the 90s when the great players boomed. He saw the threat from Reyes and Earl and retreated. So when he came back at 00 his game had sunk too low and outdated with his delays in executing shots, the game had already gone too far. That's the truth

World Standardized Rules of Pocket Billiards. "1.3 Players Use of Equipment The equipment must meet existing WPAequipment specifications.
