Thanks Anna. There are obstacles that I find difficult to overcome and at the same time it disconcerts me from listening. There are several challenges when listening to a native speaker: 1. The pronunciation varies depending on the speed. 2. They have many languages that some Sometimes they don't seem to make sense. For example the first time I heard "kiss and make up". I didn't find sense. But after looking for the meaning, "clean slate" I understood that when women kiss, their lipstick is erased and They have to put on makeup again. And that's how I remembered her better. 3. Many homophonous words. 4. Sometimes when speaking fast the union of words form homophones. Eh." been affected" is similar to "benefited". The context doesn't always help, because it is easy to imagine something else. 5. I guess the cultural. They tell a joke, they laugh and I find it hard to find the reason for the laugh. The title of the film " 7 pound". It was hard for me to understand the relationship between 7 pounds and 7 deaths. turns out the origin was from literature, from the book "The Merchant of Venice" pounds referred to pounds of meat, necessary to eat and live. 6. Words have several meanings. They usually have a main one. we get used to using the word in one way and suddenly its other meaning comes out. Perhaps I am the worst student, since I learn exclusively on my own. I usually see tutorials with many expressions in English. When I manage to invent a reason for his origin is that I really learn it. I hope that while in the United States, you will be able to have trusted friends and will be able to decipher several mysteries that will facilitate the understanding and teaching of that widely spoken language.

I have a goal in my life nowadays understanding what native speakers are talking about. I've been listening in English as much as I can. I've done it in all my free time sometimes I wonder if I'm getting paranoid because I've not been thinking in another thing. Actually I'm trying to forget Portuguese in order to understand better. I'm so glad 'cause I've used your tips and I see I'm in the right path. As you said sometimes you feel frustrared because you don't understand, but I don't wanna give up! I listen to on line classes, tv shows with subtitles in English I get stuck in some complex sentences but I keep it up doing what I have to do to improve my English listening skills. I feel relivied when other people say that's really hard to understand and I see that the problem is not only mine. I get motiveted when I watch your videos and I believe that I'll become a good listener. Thanks for your help.

You said at the start of the video you had been learning English for many years but still had not used to listening to news, talk shows and this means you already had a high level of English at that time. Could you tell me how long it took you to advance your listening skills after that? And how often did you practise listening?

Anna , I m not new to you, I've been following your lessons for a few years . I enjoy your lessons most. You're a brilliant teacher. Your English is amazing, your prounciation is perfect. I find your lessons useful and helpful, it takes my English to the next level. You know, I'm Chinese, a non-native speaker, I speak okay, not sound like a native speaker, I can't lose my Chinese accent, but people completely understand me . My English is great, but not excellent. You're doing a good job in your lessons, I appreciate you that, you deserve a pat on the back. In my point of view, English is not something you have, it's something you do. Be consistent, English will come to you. Thanks so much. Have a wonderful day. Take care, Anna. Bye for now. I'll see you soon in the next video.

Hi, Anna. I think the southern U.S accent is hard to listen. REA teaches only Northen accent, she said, quote, "she never admit uploading British movie such as the Academy winning film"English Patient" nor the show including movies and TVshows from the southern area of U.S to her imitation course titled "Hollywood" What do you think of the recent northen American accent boom
