I love to see people discover Angelina! She is the most phenomenal female singer on the planet right now, and currently only 18 years old. I think starting at the beginning is an excellent idea. Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Other influences are Dinah Washington, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Etta James,Whitney Houston, and Adele to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, "Wow, what a rendition!" For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity. Now 18 years old, living in Los Angeles, and currently signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records had agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. From what we know, she is finally done with school. She had a single that came out May 5th called Love Don't Let Me Go, a new EP called Old Enough that came out Friday, July 21st, 2023, a newly released video of her new song called Now I'm The Fool, and a new album of original music which will be coming out some time this year. Angelina released her new single, Our Time, and is fantastic! She returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience. On September 22, 2023, Angelina had her first U.S. concert that sold out in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. On December 11, 2023, she was asked to come back and perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She first performed at this prestigious event in 2014 when she was 8. On Feb.29th, 2024, she performed 2 shows on one night at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. A film crew followed her and created a documentary of her called Angelina Jordan: 10 Years In The Making which premiered on her official KZbin channel on March 29th, 2024. Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to sing for the whole world, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Nick, thanks for your first reaction to Angelina Jordan, who has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. Here at age 10, she was already a national treasure in Norway. Please take the time to read the biography I compiled for Angelina. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZbin. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website. Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Musicians working with Angelina would call her the boss since she knew exactly how she wanted to sing the song and would confidently instruct the musicians. While one could say Angelina was mimicking other artists, there is no doubt she had her own style and created her own arrangements, even at this early age. Angelina was near her 8th birthday for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition to trim the number of vocalists who passed their audition, and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang.” In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. The money was placed in a trust and available when Angelina turns 18. Record company executives flew their private jets to Norway to attempt to sign 8 year old Angelina but all were thankfully rebuked. Disney also made an offer but not accepted. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore and Mexico among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. The album can be purchased on iTunes or Amazon. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT which would give Simon any control over her career. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZbin. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On KZbin, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The playlist now exceeds 200 songs. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. In December 2022, Angelina performed at the Asian American Awards in Los Angeles. On 2/27/23, Angelina performed at the FIFA Awards ceremony in Paris, France, with a viewing audience in the millions. On May 5th, 2023, Angelina released her original "Love Don't Let Me Go" On July 21, 2023, her “Old Enough” EP was released with 5 new original songs: “Fire and Rain”, “Diamond”, “Now I’m the Fool”, “All My Fault” and “Good in Goodbyes” The finance company SoFi is using Angelina’s original song “Our Time” in a commercial and the full song was uploaded on KZbin on October 27, 2023. On November 25, 2023, Angelina attended Le Bal, the annual Debutante Ball in Paris, France. On December 11, 2023, Angelina performed at the tribute to Narges Mohammadi, the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. She first performed at the Save the Children event at the 2014 Peace Prize ceremony, when she was 8 years old. Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change. February 29 2024, Angelina performed 2 shows at the Westgate Resort in Las Vegas. She debuted her new original song, “Princess of Ruins” which tells the story of why she perfoms barefoot. No doubt, it will be her signature song. Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Then go to her 4 songs on Norway Got Talent-2014 at age 7-8. After that the road is long. I’m not sure, but I think she has more than 200 videos on KZbin. It will take you some time to catch up. I am not sure what you mean with that statement. I have never seen anybody declaring her as such. I tried searching "nasjonalskatt Angelina Jordan" and didn't get any relevant hits. I mean, some people throws in the word when they talk about great people, but you make it sound like she got some official title or something. I consider her among the greatest musicians born in Norway (along with Ole Bull 1810-1880, Edvard Grieg 1843-1907, Kirsten Flagstad 1895-1962, maybe Arve Tellefsen 1936-, maybe Jan Garbarek 1947- it's hard to say exactly who should be included in such lists, but I think Angelina should be included). It is not like every Norwegian remember who she is, but she obviously has many angels in Norway as well (and when she become as famous as I expect, I am sure Norwegians who has forgotten about her will be proud as well 😀).

@@elmarwinkler6335 I highly doubt the story about queen Sonja calling Angelina a national treasure. I can find no trace of Sonja talking about Angelina. Anyway, I think that the way you emphasise it, it looks like something along the lines of queen Elisabeth knighting someone, and even if Sonja at some point used the word, it would still not be anything like that. Angelina is such a beautiful soul and has so many expectations around her that I don't think we as fans need to glorify her further with invented stories. Even though she has her family around her and does what she love, it must still feel like a pressure to not step wrong. That is why I reacted to your statement. No hard feelings, I know we both love Angelina, but she is such a fabulous person that it saddens me when I see statements I believe to be untrue that might further build up a glorified image. I am rambling, but at the end of the day she is just a young lady at the entrance of being an adult, and I think it is important that we as fans don't create a gloss picture that it's impossible to live up to. Great first reaction. You will have many more similar reactions if you go down the rabbit hole. Believe or not at 10 years old she was already a veteran. Her introduction to the general public was at 7 years old on Norway’s Got Talent which she won, having turned 8 by the end of the competition. She is currently 18 and just recently performed two shows in Las Vegas. Originally from Norway, she and her family moved to Los Angeles in 2018 when Angelina was 12. She signed with Republic Records at age 14 and has yet to be fully promoted until Angelina and her family feel the time is right.

Sir, AJ started "singing" at age 18 MONTHS, discovered Jazz shortly after, and decided to practice nearly every day for many hours since around 3 years old. From age 4 on she visited the music academy of Oslo for technical advice and practices still today. She excelled in Mathematics and languages (speaking 6 languages) playing at least 2 instruments (piano and guitar) I am sure of. She designes clothes (tutored by her artistic grandma Mery), is/was a good seamstress and has a "perfect ear" for music, hence her nickname THE BOSS. Recommend watching all performances with closed captions on! 10 year old girl on stage with a band and just kills this song! That was Angelina’s arrangement. There are videos of her sitting at the piano working on it. Her grandmother, who was a child protege herself, recognized Angelina’s talent at an early age (18 months), and made lots of home videos of Angelina as she was growing up. No other artist I know of has such a well documented life. Once you have watched many of the “performances”, it’s fascinating to go back and watch the rehearsals. Enjoy the rabbit hole!
