couple fun facts about Blonde, comments feel free to add: - the vocals in the background on Pink & White are Beyoncé - the beat switch in Nights marks the half way point between Blond & Blonde - the interview at the end of Futura Free is his late younger brother - this album was dropped the day after he dropped Endless an Apple Music exclusive video album which was dropped as a move to get out of his record deal contract making Blonde a completely independent album.
@noahrch99752 ай бұрын
also the beat switch on Nights marks the perfect half of Blonde (30 minutes), and the name "Blonde" for the album is not the same on the cover "Blond", it means the difference for the first part (bright, young and also the sexuality = feminine for Blonde) and the second part of the album (dark, getting older and masculin for Blond)

it’s so funny hearing you listening to seigfried and saying it sounds like radiohead because jonny greenwood, the guitarist from radiohead, actually arranged the strings for that song!

dude i’m so glad i found this. u get the album very well I think. Seigfried was one song I didn’t revisit very often but after a couple relistens I heard new things everytime and I think that it’s one of the best songs ever. I think a deeper look in the lyrics helps as well. Fuck yeah subscribed mf

You have to let Seigfried simmer into you, when I first listened to Blonde I didn't like it as much as most other songs. But as time went on and Blonde became a soundtrack to most of my memories, good and bad, Seigfried became probably my favourite song ever.

Not only the beat switch is in the exact middle of Blonde, it also divides the record in two. If you pay attention, songs before Nights are "positive", they reminisce easier, kid and teenage times, when things were good and life was easy. Many people, me included, believe that when he pitches up his voice, it's to tell a story as a younger self. From the beat switch forward, things get a bit more "darker". It touches more mature themes. Interludes are no longer mom giving advices, but adult, romantic issues. There are no more voice pitches too.

When I tell you I lived your reaction to this album! It’s always so warming to watch somebody experience this album and Frank Ocean as a whole for the first time. He only has 3 full bodies of work. 2 albums: Channel Orange & Blonde and a mixtape that you now have to dig a little for bit ITS INCREDIBLE Nostalgia, Ultra. I’m subscribed now for the long hall but I MUST see you experience all three and even if I don’t see them you have to experience them on your own at least 😅.

Man, first Linkin Park, now Frank Ocean? I'll subscribe, alright. Make sure to listen to Minutes to Midnight and Channel Orange though. Frank's lyrics are full of (at least) double entendres, and stories are open for intepretation. Blonde is a masterpiece, the more you learn about it, the better and more complex it gets. It feels a little better compared to his previous record, but both are amazing. And this comes from a guy who doesn't really listen anything other like Frank Ocean.
