With this being my first experience with Tyler the Creator, I didn't know what to expect. I especially didn't expect an album with such a strong and heart-wrenching narrative. I've heard that musically and thematically that this album differs from his other work but this has me excited for more Tyler. Let me know your thoughts!

fun fact about the albums end, the last synth/note on are we still friends ends unresolved, but actually perfectly resolves on the starting synth of igors theme, making the album and love cycle an endless loop, which also makes it way more sad lol

As someone who has this album in some of my favorites of all time I kinda agree that no specific song stands out. My favorite is WHAT’S GOOD but I never just recommend the song to people. To only listen to one song from this album is robbing people of an experience. I could never recommend just one song to someone without recommending the whole album. I believe this is something that needs to be experienced as a whole in order to appreciate the songs singularly.

If you enjoyed igor i wholeheartedly reccomend Flower Boy (my personal favorite Tyler album). Other album reccomendations include This is Why by Paramore & Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappel Roan in terms of albums that have dropped seni-recently. Loved this !!

If you were wondering where the "aggressive Tyler" idea came from, just listen to either Goblin or Bastard, the latter of which is only available on Spotify via podcasts as it is not a studio album. Be warned though, there are slurs and offensive things galore, as well as some triggering topics which I will not state(these were released 2009 and 2011). A bit late but when he is saying "Ridin' around town they gonna feel this one" he is refering to the fact its a loop AND that at the same time he released.the album he sent a message which in short said "This isn't any of my previous projects, don't just *listen* to this album, go ride your bike, or go on a walk"

This has been one of my favorite albums for a while, so i was pretty surprised when a different artist that that i love released an album that felt somewhat reminiscent of igor. Its not the same (obviously), but "right place wrong person" by RM is probably my favorite album this year. Hes from the group BTS, but you really cant judge a book by its cover when it comes to them. If you do decide to do a reaction to it i would recommend using lyric videos on youtube since it is partially english and partially korean. (p.s. this is the first vidoe of yours ive watched and i really enjoyed it. Ill be checking out more videos for sure :)

That’s the amazing thing about Tyler his music is heavily introspective and story driven but his ability to produce and write makes it an easy listen if you don’t want to think

Wait till he finds out the album is a loop because he did not truly get over him so the loop of friends to potential lovers to the other guy hiding his true sexuality is a cycle he can’t get out of because he never fell out of love with him and the other guy doesn’t want to show his true self (according to Tyler’s character)

Summary: Tyler is running around and finds one of his friends and he has a crush on him, in earfquake he's confessing that he did something wrong and to not leave. In I think, (I think) he like knows he has a heart for his friend(I forgor) In boyfriend(not WYRFYEUC boyfriend is a bonus track btw on vinyl) Hes like screaming I WANT TO BE YOUR BOYFRIEND but I think let's just call him Rob he's ignoring igor and not telling him yes or no in running out of time she's saying he's running out of time to make Rob love him but Rob feels uncomfortable with Tyler because homosexuals will shame him for dating a guy and being gay. And the reason he's running out of time is because Rob is attached to his ex and doesn't pay attention to Igor. In new magic wand it's actually scary. Igor says to be with Rob HE'LL KILL HIS EX AND IF ROB DOESNT SAY YES HES GOING TO KILL THEM BOTH ok imagine what is going through robs mind right now. In boy is a gun* he's basically clicking in Igors head that he doesn't love him and that Rob has a gun that's about to break his heart. And then he goes back to glazing in puppet. He says I'm your puppet and you control me. In what's good he says he has no one to cheat on and he cheats death. (He did after a car crash in like 2018 or smth) In gone, gone/thank you (my personal favorite) he says that his love is gone and to be happy with his ex but at the very end it says "Want me to do it over? Everything", in the second part, thank you, he thanks him for his love and joy. In IDLYAM he screams I DONT LOVE YOU ANYMORE like he's hoping it'll come true also in that song he says"realize there's more fish in the sea ima re-up" and finally in can we be friends he asks Rob if he can still be friends again which remember he started with having a crush on his friend. And remember in earfquake were he says don't leave its my fault? Well his fault is for making Rob uncomfortable ITS A LOOP HE FALLS IN LOVE REALIZES HES NO GOOD AND THEN BE FRIENDS AGAIN AND FALL BACK IN LOVE hope this helps ive been writing this for over a half hour

The only past 3 albums by Tyler haven’t been aggressive, but listen to cherry bomb, wolf, goblin or bastard (all much earlier projects than Igor) and you’ll know why you expected more harsh music. 😙 My personal favorite is wolf with how the album sounds more classical and synth at times but I’d definitely recommend listening to Flower Boy or Call me if you get lost: The estate sale next since you started out with Igor ☺️
