Jane H …. Elvis was raised by his mama to always be honest, & right throughout his career he would always answer questions honestly, & never try to bluff his way through interviews. And he never bad-mouthed anyone in an interview.

Love these clips, he never gets old, and so honest and self deprecating he always said he couldn't sing, play guitar and he couldn't dance, one guitar analyst in England said he was actually quite good and he couldn't understand why Elvis down played his talent. When in Truth his almost 3 octave range was fantastic. Sometime listen to his rehearsal tapes , when he sings and arranges as he goes. the famous Tenor Pavarotti said, he would have rather had Elvis voice than his own. Thanks I really enjoyed this.

The analyst you are speaking about, is it Wings of Pegasus? I've watched him talking about Elvis and his guitar playing. I love that channel and how he is exposing the music industry. I agree with all that you said about Elvis. The fact that he said he couldn't sing ballads blows my mind.

I've seen before but of course since I'm a huge fan, totally enjoyed. Be sure to share the filming of his entrance into the Army. Lots of film about it which is quite interesting. He couldn't even get any privacy during his physical, haircut, etc. While fans loved it, couldn't help but feel bad for him that he couldn't say goodbye to loved ones, even getting weighed, & every other detail of his induction, in private. That would never happen today. His Army haircut was shown around the world. Quite amazing phenomenon.

I love listening to Elvis interviews, he is so natural and humble and also very down to earth with his answers and I like the sound of his voice. He was only 22 years old here, with already 4 years experience as a singner. Thank you for this video.

He doesn’t sound as if he’s drunk to me, at all. And actually, Elvis is known to seldom drink & seldom smoke, except for a cigar. The slurring is probably from his Southern accent, which was obviously strong in his early 20s. By the time he had done eight years of Hollywood acting, quite a bit of that accent had gone. Also, he was in Canada doing concerts, so probably also feeling tired, as he didn’t sleep very well, especially after the adrenalin rush of a live concert. I hope you will be doing either his 1956 or ‘57 live concert in his hometown of Tupelo, Mississippi, because hardly any of his ‘50s live concerts were filmed.

One thing to keep in mind is that they were trying to pigeon hole Elvis as only liking Country and not having the “negative” influence of black music. He had to answer carefully to ensure that all of his influences came through, but also had to make sure they could not twist his words to blame black music for the so-called “negative effects” of rock ‘n’ roll. One false criticism of Elvis is that he did not “credit his influences”, but there are many, many examples of him stating what his influences were. There are other times when he keeps that to himself, depending on what he felt was the motive of the person asking.

Listen to Are You Lonesome Tonight laughing version.. He changes the words and cracks up uncontrollably thru out whole song.

Canada is a British country. Elvis was ostracized from the beginning and has remained a “rebel”. Compare his beauty to the reporters around him. People could not help but stare at him. He’s 22 years old and truly one of a kind. 🎸🎸🎶🎸🎸

@JonBurrows3577Ай бұрын
It is mostly a good fan made documentary. The professionally made parts from a Tom Snyder segment are well done, but it also uses some scenes that were reenacted for “This is Elvis”. The interview with the PTA lady was clearly a recreation, while other parts of the video are actually from the 50s.

its a an ok fan made video made from some decent interviews but it isn't the best or most important piece of elvis media he HAS TO/NEEDS TO watch there are many other great elvis docs out there about it not sure why so many are hung up on that one

@@belinda35_77 Exactly. Elvis ‘56 would be much better. Too many are still living in the past when people believed false narratives about Elvis, sure there are some ignorant people who still believe in things disproven decades ago, but to focus on that today can have the opposite effect.

@@grahammalcolm7130 except most people today have no idea who most of the people in that video talking are...so it doesn't mean as much to them & zakk already understands there is a huge false narrative surrounding elvis & culture appropriation that particular video isn't as important as some of the other stuff about his early yrs which shine a real light on elvis & his relationship with his peers, idols & inspiration
