Stray Kids did a Deadpool inspired performance on the show Kingdom which initially drew Ryan Reynolds’s attention and led to him interacting with the group, specifically Bang Chan over social media. Ryan declared himself a fan and declared Bang Chan “his new favorite australian”. They’ve interacted more over the past few years and recently met in Korea along with Felix and Hugh Jackman during the Deadpool press tour

You mentioned them not being out of breath in the dance practice, except at the very end, and this is a thing. Because kpop idols have to sing and dance at the same time, they do breath exercises, first of all to be able to sing while moving, but also to pull out performances looking like it's easy. You'll often see idols with intense choreo letting go their breath at the end of a performance. It's great to see in fact, because you can see their hardwork also through the physical input and dedication. Stray Kids are very passionate about their music and performances, this is so great to see, and I hope I'll be able to go see them live at a concert next year. Fingers crossed!

I hope nobody is being rude to you, and please don't worry if you still don't get the details or names right, you're still learning and also Stray Kids have a LOT of content and music. Stray Kids did a Deadpool themed performance on a show called Kingdom: Legendary War. People tagged Ryan. He reached out on twitter. They started talking and sending gifts (like autographs and merch) back and forth to each other. Then Bang Chan did an online interview where he interviewed Ryan for a movie. They kept in touch and Stays got to see a good bit because they talked a lot over social media. Ryan even hypes up SKZ album releases and posts video edits for Bang Chan's birthday. Eventually, Hugh got involved because he is friends with Ryan and an Aussie, so he jokingly reached out to SKZ to warn them about Ryan being clingy. More time passed and their friendships got stronger. It seems like Ryan finally got to meet them when they shot the "Chk Chk Boom" MV, but not Hugh. Then when Ryan and Hugh went to Korea to promote the new Deadpool and Wolverine movie, they all got to meet up together. Felix and Bang Chan even interviewed Ryan and Hugh for Marvel Korea when they were there. And they told us a lot of interesting things in the interview about being in the music video (no spoilers for that). Also, someone else leaked that SKZ was almost in the movie, but because of scheduling conflicts, they couldn't make it work out. Then the OST "Slash" was released.

Ty ty for another dive into SKZ!!! The portraits in chk chk boom are all of doorways, windows, and arches. They're easter eggs for their multiverse lore chain😉. In the mv, SKZ members also make chalked representations of the same, and appear to manipulate time (Han throws a can of spray paint into the air, freezes it, and then catches it later). They want us to know that they are in control of/exploring different timelines and multiverses. I see S- CLASS as an exhibition of two things: how well they understand the history of pop music/genres, and their mind-blowing skill in using/blending them all to their will. S-Class literally transitions through samples of hip hop, western pop, dub step, rap, etc, while speaking about how they've developed their own ability to shine/be unique. Indeed, their music production always helps portray the ideas/themes they wish to explore in ways that can be quite genius😂. I'm so glad you are excited to get to know stray kids better! I personally hope you don't over-emphasize ranking the members individually (i.e. as biases). They are each separately amazing, of course, but their true strength comes from how amazingly well each of their personal skill sets add to the synergy of the group. Their bond is everything to them, and they are all extremely special❤.

Hii I just discovered you yesterday and I am so loving this journey with you. ❤ To be specific on an easter egg in the paintings in the Chk Chk Boom MV if you were to call that: at 5:24 you can see a person walking in the painting and that's actually another member Lee Know. Now I'll give a little explanation on Thunderous: In this music video, Stray Kids embody powerful entities that channel an ancient force to defeat their enemies. The MV is rich with elements of traditional Korean folklore, drawing heavily on the Dokkaebi (도깨비), goblins from Korean mythology known for their incredible abilities and dual nature as both tricksters and protectors. Felix mentioned that the Dokkaebi were a primary source of inspiration for the video. Dokkeabi, often identified as nature deities or spirits, are known for defending against evil while sometimes playing tricks. This duality is evident in the MV, where Stray Kids play goblins who don't follow the rules but are ready to fight the nagging individuals depicted in the song. In Korean mythology, blue flames are called Goblin Fire, similar to the will-o’-the-wisp in European folklore. These flames embody the power of goblins and signal their arrival. In the MV, Stray Kids manifest as soon as the blue flames appear on Earth, aligning with their self-proclaimed identity as the Thunderous Ones, who are "freezing cold but burn forever," a nod to the Dokkaebi. The original Korean title of the song is 소리꾼 (sorikkun), referring to singers or vocalists of traditional Korean music. In the song, Stray Kids are the sorikkun, arriving to battle the 잔소리꾼 (jansorikkun), or naggers. The jansorikkun are depicted as villains who talk nonsense out of jealousy and overconfidence, but who ultimately fall in the face of the sorikkun, who don't play by the rules and make their own. By the end of the video, Stray Kids have the final word, silencing the jansorikkun once and for all, reinforcing their position as the powerful and unorthodox defenders in the story. This whole song/MV (and album) was a call back to the haters that called them "noise music". And a little explanation on S-CLASS: The title for S-CLASS in Hangul (Korean name) is 특 (pronounced as teuk), meaning "special." As a term used to describe the best of the best, S-Class cars are often considered the perfect vehicles of their generation. In "God’s Menu," Stray Kids described their music as having five Michelin stars, setting a standard that goes beyond the typical three-star Michelin rating. This signifies their exceptional quality and ambition. Now, with S-CLASS, they celebrate their uniqueness and versatility, embodying the concept of being "odd-stars." The members themselves humorously defined their concept for this album, "5-STAR," as being funnily annoying. The song S-CLASS is about embracing their uniqueness and making it their strength. Being special has become their specialty because no one else can pull it off like they do. A significant part of why they are S-CLASS is the love and support of STAY (the fandom name). STAYs make Stray Kids feel like the shiniest stars, while to Stray Kids, STAYs are the brightest stars of all. STAYs are special, shining people who are integral to their success. Stray Kids also draw strength from each other, which is another reason they are S-CLASS. The music video (MV) is flashy, fun, campy, and chaotic, but it works because they embrace and maintain their unique style. In the MV, the streets scenes reference previous songs: "God’s Menu" with the chefs, scientists, and marching band members; "Thunderous" with the traditional white lion mask, folk musicians, and blue flames representing Dokkaebi, the goblins of Korean folklore that inspired their characters in the "Thunderous" MV. Stray Kids have a history of turning criticism into strength. In "Noeasy" (the "Thunderous" album), they reclaimed the term "noise music," using it to their advantage. They transformed into the Thunderous Ones, divine supernatural creatures silencing the critical "jansorikkun" with their powerful roar. Similarly, in S-CLASS, they take the trash from the streets and repurpose it creatively, although pollution sometimes creates bigger monsters than expected. After battling a flying ear monster and a sentient self-cloning fluffy heart in previous MVs, it's now time to defeat a giant one-eyed octopus wearing star-goggles. This symbolizes their journey of overcoming challenges and turning them into strengths, consistently proving their S-CLASS status. I wanted to write so much more but I had to keep myself from giving you a whole book.😂🥰

Love the concept that Stray Kids being rebellious makes them both the tricksters and the protectors of kpop. Can't have one without the other, and can't do either without being willing to take risks.

Hi! I just discovered your channel and am so pleased with your Stray Kids reactions! You really put effort into understanding everything and it shows. There are so many fan theories with respect to Stray Kids lore but I think the room at 6:43 in the Chk Chk Boom MV is the same room setting shown in two of their other MV's- "Venom" and "Case 143". Also, the portraits at the back are a callback to the art museum backdrop seen in the "Back Door" MV and "Chill" MV. Since the "Chk Chk Boom" song is from their recent album, 'ATE' which stands for "All The Eras", it makes sense to do major callbacks to all their previous songs. Having said all this, there could be easter eggs in that scene which even I couldn't catch, but to me, that scene had a more nostalgic feel to it because of the iconic background.

I'm so happy that u did another stray kids video, hoping to see more of Stray kids so I subscribed. I'm not gonna shut up about how well diversed they are like literally they have songs that fits any genre and imo whatever mood u're in, there's always a skz song that u can find to listen to, and the fact that they're self produced and writes 99% of the lyrics of their songs which is not really common in kpop industry is what makes me even prouder. I'm hoping to see the guide video of skz that u're talking about and pls u should react to my fav songs "Maniac" (I really love this song, Felix w the deep voice in the chorus is always stuck in my head especially the beat in this song), "Lalalala" (A hype and energetic song), "Topline"(the rap here is servingg) If u're the type who likes more vocals I personally recommend "Mixtape:OH", "Cover Me", & "Secret Secret" for the sub units I recommend "Surfin" it's a summer song & it has 3 members (Lee Know, Changbin,Felix), "Gone Away" has more vocals, it also has 3 members ( Han, Seungmin, I.N) stray kids has a thing called sub units whenever they're dividing themselves to make some music(mostly a duo or a trio song), one example is "Red lights" which I also recommend to watch, the song Red lights only has 2 members in it which is Chan & Hyunjin. Though they have 3 major sub units such as 1. 3RACHA (pronounced as three-racha) - consisting of Chan(leader), Changbin, & Han. They're the rap & producing unit of Stray kids, Chan is more inclined in singing tho and Changbin & Han does the rapping, they're mostly the one responsible for producing, composing, arranging,& writing in 99% of their songs, they personally help & direct members in recording their songs (u can see them in the credits in mostly of their mvs) u can tell that they're really hardworking & puts a lot of effort in their music 2. DANCERACHA - the dance unit of the group consisting of Lee Know, Hyunjin(pronounced as yoon-jin), & Felix, responsible for helping and teaching other members on choreographies that they may be struggling with (mostly, Lee Know is the one who leads) and sometimes contributes choreographies for their songs as well. The three of them is also considered as Visual Unit since they're really good looking and they already appeared in magazines and became ambassadors of some of the most famous clothing brands(if I remember correctly, Leeknow is Gucci, Felix is Louis Vuitton,& Hyunjin is Versace) 3. VOCALRACHA- vocal unit of the group consisting of Seungmin( simply pronounced as sung-min) & I.N(pronounced as eye-in) they're mostly the one who's singing in the group like the pre-chorus or the bridge of their songs. Both has really lovely vocals and they're the youngest members of the group (I.N is the most youngest born on 2001) But these sub units doesn't mean that they're only good in that particular sort of things because all of them are All rounders, meaning they're good at everything such as singing, rapping,& dancing. Skz is the short term for Stray Kids and the fandom name is called Stay. I really love them all but my ultimate biases at the moment is 3RACHA(Chan, Changbin,Han). Bias means your favorite member. That's all I can say and please correct me if I'm wrong since I only became a Stay this year, I pretty much typed anything that I only know abt Skz or there might be something I'm missing information and that y'all wants to add up anything, my English is not good since it's not my first language so I hope u understand my comment. Love your reactions btw.

Both Thunderous and Back Door grew on me the more I listened to them. Now they're some of my favourite songs!
@polyanagula4 ай бұрын
thanks for the new reaction! we love long videos :) I haven't seen an explanation of "thunderous" in the comments so I will write about it (might be that I have just missed someone explaining it too). the Korean title of the song is "sorikun" which is the name of a medieval profession in Korea for people traveling around and telling stories. the way they were telling stories was pretty specific: the stories were rhymed and people were singing them in a certain way (called pansori), namely Changbin's rap at 10:28 - this is how pansori sounds. so, the story of the MV is taking place in medieval Korea, where a competition for this kind of story tellers is announced. Stray Kids are dokkebi in the MV - it is some kind of korean goblins or deities of nature who do whatever they want, sometimes helping humans and sometimes playing tricks on them. dokkebi have red skin and can manipulate blue fire. so dokkebi aka Stray Kids take a human form and come to take part in the competition of story tellers (sorikuns). the official translation of the song is adjusted to the Western audience which doesn't know Korean culture. fun facts: "sori" (in "sorikun") means noise, sound. "thunderous" / "sorikun" is a title track on an album called NOEASY. if you pronounce NOEASY fast, you will get the word "noisy" which is what haters call Stray Kids and their music. 4 first tracks of the NOEASY album are diss tracks to haters (cheese, thunderous, domino and ssik). in the dance practice Han has one eye covered due to a stye. the guy whose singing you liked and thought it was Han, was actually Seungmin.

There are "making of" or behind the scenes Videos for a lot of their MV's if you are interested 😊 - You seemed to miss the ending banter between Stray Kids and Ryan Reynolds in Chk Chk Boom... - The deadpool themed performance that got Ryan Reynolds' attention in the first place, was "God's Ddu-du Ddu-du" from the Kingdom show. It's a mash up of Black Pinks "Ddu-du Ddu-du" and Stray Kids own "God's Menu" and it is amazing! And yes, there is a video, and yes we would love to see your reaction 😉❤️ (Just search "Stray Kids dududu") - Ryan had actually wanted Stray Kids to have a cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine, but scheduling conflicts made it impossible. My guess is, that Ryan and Hugh appearing in Chk Chk Boom is the next best thing 😊❤ They had been teasing a collaboration for a long time 😊 I know that you might be overwhelmed with suggestions for things to watch, as we Stays have a tendency to become very eager to share 😂❤ But if you want to see more dancing, then Studio Choom versions of the songs are a good way to go. There are Relay-dances too, which are both cool and often funny. 😊 Just search the song name +Studio Choom. (+ Relay dance for that). I think it's just the title tracks that have Studio Choom performances though. Stay, correct me, if I'm wrong 😊❤ - Unit song recommendations: • Up all Night • Red Lights (a song that may or may not be about addiction to work....) • Muddy Waters • Surfin' • Can't Stop • Taste • 3Racha (by 3Racha) • Gone Away • Waiting for us • Drive (which is definitely about driving! (A running joke that you will probably get when you listen to the lyrics 😂) • Maknae on Top (a gift from Bang Chan and Changbin to the I.N, the youngest (maknae) in the group, who they all adore. There are more unit songs, but I'll stop here 😊

I know a lot of kpop idols sometimes wear eye patches to cover up various eye infections like pinkeye or stye from using makeup. That might be why Han was wearing one in the dance practice of Thunderous. K-pop idols train for anywhere up to 8-14 hours of dancing/day.

the most important thing in any stray kids song is that the "we" in their lyrics never just means the eight of them. it ALWAYS means "we" as in every single "stray" kid out there in the world. they might be the mouthpieces, but they consider every single song to be something they're saying not just for themselves, but for anyone who needs to hear it said: we all are awesome, we all are strong, we all are badasses in our own right, and we all have a place in their little family of misfits

Fun Fact: Ryan Reynelds told Felix and Bangchan that Marvel didn't even know about him and Hugh being in the music video! All of the business was done with Stray Kids and Ryan as friends and longtime fans of one another which is pretty dope ngl 😅 Awesome reactions! Thank you again for the content!!

There is A LOT of lore for SKZ music videos, so I'm glad you see the effort they put into the storytelling of their MVs! (Also, don't go down that rabbit hole of SKZ lore... it's a mindF*CK) Edit: You should always watch to the very end of the MV's lol - there is a quick funny scene with Ryan and SKZ at the end of chk chk Boom. They also love doing physical effects when they can. So in S-Class, the explosions, the fire bursts, the oil rig, etc is all real! They have making of MV videos and they are so cool!

One of the wildest things as a new Stay to get used to was just how much content is out there. An m/v is just the start, you get a performance vid, a dance practice, relay dances, and numerous live versions just of one song, each one a little different, enough to keep it fresh and interesting. Then there's teaser vids, mashups, recording vids so you see the process in the booth and then the MV making of vids. And if you get through all that, you get SKZ Code which is their reality show or SKZ talker which is behind the scenes footage, or any flavor of random live or interview you can think of. The access to idols in Korea not to mention the output is just crazy immense in comparison to Western groups.

Oh I love your interpretation of the meaning of S-CLASS! Interpretation is always open with Stray Kids' mvs and song lyrics (even there is of course a base, an origin for them). Seungmin has a really great voice, I love it so much, and it seems like you too! Seungmin is the one you thought was Han in the dance practice video, and the one's voice you complimented in S-CLASS!

I'm generally not into reaction videos on principal, but one of yours for Skz popped up for me yesterday and I've been watching through them. I still have a few more, but I really enjoy your take on the dancing, the music, the lyrics, etc. I've been a fan of theirs for years but watching these almost felt like watching the MVs for the first time again. This is what reaction vids should be like! I really want to recommend TMT. It's my favorite Stray Kids song, but I just never see anyone giving it any love. It's older and does include the one former member who left a couple of years ago.

Ooooh... There's like a 3 year long bromance between Ryan Reynolds and Bang Chan 😂 In 2021 SKZ took part in a reality show called Kingdom Legendary War and their one performance had a bit of a deadpool feel. Ryan heard about it and reached out to Bang Chan and they've been in contact since then. All 8 members, to various degrees, are marvel fans. I've found most k-pop groups have a theme. SKZ is all about the megavers and them moving between different versions/realities of themselves. The SKZ lore is crazy complicated and I'm still trying to work my way through it. They also have a 10min mini video called SKZFLIX that plays into that concept with ties to some of their music videos. If you have time definitely watch the performances of the reality show. They were soooo good. You won't regret it. Also, welcome to being a new Stay 😂 it's a wild ride.

unit/individual song recs to help recognise the members faster(these are more chill and cover more genres): streetlight- changbin ft bangchan redlights- bangchan and hyunjin close-han maknae on top- i.n. ft changbin and bangchan drive- lee know and bangchan up all night- seungmin, felix, changbin and bangchan honestly, i've found the best way to learn the members is watch their extra content(their variety/reality content). They are part time comedians as you'll learn in the guide, and in kpop, the extra stuff counts for just as much as the music. So, yeah, i'm excited for you to reach all that point and dip your toes into more stray kids

TYSM for your reactions on Stray Kids i´ve watch them all and now i´ve subscribed :) honest reactions are my favorites, i love it!! as you said we all have different connections to the songs and they vibe different for every person , no reasons to feel bad about the ranks, is the first time i hear the theory of the elements in Thunderous choreography and is something i´ve always thought too, i don´t know if is confirmed by the boys bot it seem so cool ^o^ please more stray kids in the future and wish you the best in life and with your channel ^o^ I think you could enjoy their pre-debut song "Hellevator" as well "Easy" "Maniac" and "Freeze" ^-^ edit: about the length of the videos, since it was so entertaining it felt short to me but i don´t know if is good for the YT algorithm i have the idea that shorter videos work better, but i think anything you feel right is right, so, as the boys say, just do what you want we dont´play by the rules ^o^

Just subscribed, I can't wait to see more of your Stray Kids reactions and to watch you find out more. I thought your introduction was a really great summary and it's clear you've really understood the comments and have taken the time to engage, which we all appreciate! They just dropped the music video to JJAM a few hours ago, I feel like that could be up your street. The guys voice you mentioned liking in S-Class and the guy you pointed out in the dance practice for Thunderous was Seungmin (Not Han - Han had the eye patch) Don't worry about getting the names wrong, every new viewer goes through the same thing and you won't be critised for getting it wrong! Funny you mentioned the last airbender because I think there are a lot of hints towards it in the S-Class music video, 5/8 of the members are big anime fans so I think they add a lot of references to different shows/movies into a lot of their videos. They're also big marvel fans which I'm sure is clear from Chk Chk Boom, but the Manaic video also has Marvel elements. Case 143 has 'The Shining' references as well. I know you mentioned sub-units, the main way they split Stray Kids is: 3RACHA - production team (Bang Chan 5:53 - leader, Changbin 5:22 & Han 4:25 - both main rappers) DanceRACHA - dance team (Lee Know - lead dancer 6:16, Hyunjin 25:46 & Felix - you know) VocalRACHA - vocal team (Seungmin 25:19 & I.N 5:32) Some unit songs you can take a listen to: Taste (DanceRACHA) - sexy song with a lot of falsetto - the performance of this is worth a watch 3RACHA (3RACHA) - UK drill rap song (3racha have multiple songs) Can't Stop (VocalRACHA) - light-hearted cute pop style song I'd say the team is mainly split as 4 singers and 4 rappers, but every member can do a bit of everything, they really are all amazing at what they do. 4 singers - Bang Chan, Lee Know, Seungmin, I.N (unit song - Waiting for Us) 4 rappers - Changbin, Hyunjin, Han & Felix (unit song - Muddy Water) They have lots of other subunits with basically every member being mixed at some point so a few key mentions: Maknae on top (I.N, Bang Chan and Changbin) - maknae in Korean means the youngest - it's a song joking that I.N is spoilt. (has a M/V) Red Lights (Bang Chan and Hyunjin) - sexy style song (has a m/v) Drive (Bang Chan and Lee Know) - relaxed/trap (has a m/v) Up All Night (Bang Chan, Changbin, Felix and Seungmin) - Halloween vibe (has a m/v) They also write and release songs that aren't on their album, i'd recommend watching some of the two kids room on their channel they did some episodes where they did a live performance at the end of talking about their relationship with each other. They all have solo songs as well which they perform as part of their concerts which gives you a bit more insight into their individual vibe. They are amazing dancers, I think they have some of the best and most iconic dances in kpop, Lee Know (the lead dancer) was a professional dancer before he became an idol and works with professional choreographers (with the rest of danceracha - Hyunjin and Felix) to decide. I love that they are really involved in the creation of each element, the dance, music video theme, easter eggs, logos, album art etc. I think it's what makes them stand out in the industry and you get the feel they are really confident in what they produce since they have a say. I'm glad Stays have been a great help and have been providing lots of the info, if you have any questions make sure to ask! I think you'd enjoy getting to know their personalities as they are the complete opposite as how they come across in their performances vs reality. I think that is where you can really choose a bias. Sorry this comment got really long!

Ryan has been friends with Chan since 2021 ( leader of Straykids) , They've been really close friends exchanging gifts and complementing each other. The funny thing is that marvel dosen't know about this collab. Both Ryan and Hugh willing decided to cameo on the M/V because they both love Straykids so much. Fast forward to now, both Hugh and Ryan are huge Stays, This collab was anticipated for stays for a while. Also Straykids will be featured in the new Deadpool and wolverine movie theough an OST ( original sound track )called "Slash" As Stay many ppl bash on skz beucasue they really popular in 4th gen , SkZ are under JYP which is the entertainment that has groups that excels vocally, and dance wise. One of the members of SkZ ( lee know) was back up dancer for BTS. Many people only judge SKZ and say they only make noise music, and they only foucs on their TT's ( title tracks) but don't give thier b sides a chance 🙏🙏 Their tille tracks usally have performance videos not the b sides to be honest 🙏🙏 I recommend you watch songs like hall of fame, Easy, social path, mainac and charmer ( has no M/V) , maybe if you react to their Ate alum, S class is from their 5-star album which has really good bangers Bang Jae-yeob is also an amazing director and editor , he directed and edited many virals SkZ hits like s-class and mainac

The most famous sub unit music video is for Red Lights, which is just Bang Chan and Hyunjin singing about how their obsession with making music and dancing has taken over their lives. Most of my favorite sub unit songs don’t have music videos, for example: Muddy Water, Taste, and Gone Away, while some sub unit songs have music videos even though they are not serious songs and just silly songs that they wrote for kicks and giggles like: Up All Night and Maknae On Top. (Still fun to watch though). I also think you would like the music video for the song Cheese from the same album as Thunderous, as it’s a song that mocks their haters.

i recommend watching some relay dances to see them having fun and dancing. Basically they line up behind each other and their song plays and then whoever's in the front has to dance or sing that part of the choreo and then they move on to the next person behind them.

Thunderous was actually recorded louder, but someone lowered the volume when it was released. Han is the one with the eye patch. He had a stye. Watch the Howl in Harmony songs. They all have music videos. 3racha split up and each worked with 1 or 2 other members to make a song. (You can watch the whole process from writing lyrics to filming the mv.) Red Lights - BangChan and Hyunjin Surfin' - Changbin, Lee Know and Felix Gone Away - Han, Seungmin and I.N
