tv girl is an indie-pop band composed by three boys, brad petering, jason wyman and wyatt harmon. the female voice you hear is just brad's pitched voice. their genre can be defined as “hypnotic pop”, where they talk about the love towards female pop with some traces of hip-hop💕 very funny video as always, I don't usually comment because I'm not American and I get embarrassed, but I hope I explained decently ahahah

IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!! TV Girl is well known for using a lot of samples in their songs, specifically at the end of "cigarettes out the window" they use dialogue from the movie "Dangerously Yours," a spy movie from 1937. In the song "taking whats not yours," they use a sample from an anti-piracy ad (stealing, thievin' taking what's not yours) from the 90s-00s (??) and a President Nixon speech where he's defending himself from the Watergate scandal (I'm not a crook). If you ever react to TV girl again, i'd recommend their 2014 album "French Exit".

13:40 this is actually sampled from an old radio show from the 1940s ( 1944 - 1945 ) called Dangerously yours. In a lot of their songs they rely heavily on sampling and such. Which is what makes their music so great in my opinion. ( also, this particular sample comes from episode one titled Masquerade )

In (do the) act like you never met me, at first the chorus means do the “act like you never met me”, in the same way djs say “do this dance”(the twist, cha cha slide, Cupid shuffle). However, in the last refrain, it takes on a double meaning- do *the act* like you never met me. The girl goes out and rebounds like she was never with the singer in the first place. Just something interesting! TV girl is a really cool band, and I’m glad I discovered you with this!
