They will go on until their stockpiles of old soviet material (tanks, etc) are depleted, and/or their national economy is a complete disaster and no longer can finance the war. My prediction is that they can go on fighting like this until the summer of 2025. They will go on with their snail offensive, and expand the occupied area of Ukraine from 21 % to 23 or even 24 %, but a certain point they just can´t go on.

Russia is close to economic collapse. Interest rate is 23% from their fed, inflation on basics food is very high, although wages are high because of the war economy, the rest of the economy is not really functioning. Their funds are drying up because they have lost more than 40% of oil revenue, and Ukraine is cutting off their gas revenue. The Russian budget is putting even more into 'defense' and the Russians had to pull out of Syria because they could not afford to support it any more. Thats why Syria collapsed. Added to that, the North Korean soldiers are not fighters and they have been shooting Russians because they cant communicate.

Exactly. Sadly, but everyone can see where this ends. Ukraine are desperately short of fresh soldiers. The number of young Ukrainians who dont see any point in dying for this is increasing and Zelensky dont dare to introduce general conscription. Meanwhile Russia's crude war machine advances slowly each month. Putin can continue with this for years. Contrary to democratic nations he dont have to care about any political opinion or protests. Putin is fighting the meat grinder wars in the true Soviet tradition. Tactics don't really enter the equation. That's why you never want to be stuck in Russia in war. One of historic German Leader's biggest mistakes in 1941.
