Just took the lister CS out for it's first run of 2012. The first of many hopefully.

I could listen to that all day! You always had a soft spot for the old CS,fine running engine Kevin, just like a "diesel clock". Good video.

In this video it's running @ 300 RPM. It has an oil pump for oiling the main bearings and the big and little end are splash oiled. I run it at this speed all the time and it goes fine. Thanks for watching.

Lovely , I have a CS 6/1 too, will be making a new trolley very soon and was looking at ways to eliminate trolley hop every firing stroke, Well !! after studying your video I will be mounting the axles at the trolley ends like your to prevent leverage, thanks a lot Jon

It's running at 300 RPM in the video. I usually let it run at that speed or lower at vintage shows. They will do about 700 RPM but i wouldn't run it at that speed with no load, wouldn't be good for it. If you look through the videos on my channel you'll see it driving a bench saw doing about 600 RPM. I buy most of my engines here in the Emerald Isle, bought a couple from the UK as well.

@kenboak. Thanks for your comment. I don't keep them too long so I don't bother hooking them up to anything. While i have them i bring them to vintage shows so they're heavy enough to handle as they are.

Can you please tell me what exact shade of green that is you have painted your Lister with ? Been looking on eBay for paint for my collection and their are so many variations of Lister Brunswick greens but most dont show colour but just say light, mid or dark. I do like the one you have chosen. Nice Cs.

+hawkman916 I didn't paint the engine since I got it, it was done by the previous owner who assured me that it is MID Brunswick Green. It is a lovely shade of green. If you look up "starting a 1931Crossley" on my channel, it's painted Dark Brunswick green, beautiful colour as well so that will give you an idea of the two colours. Only you can decide.

I see this one running so smooth and sounding so great. I can tell it is very efficient. And then I see a new listeroid running here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5ykfWeZapymgbM It is running faster and seems to be working harder and is louder. What is the difference? Where do you get your engines?

Very nice example of a 6/1. But she's not exactly working!! Load the old girl up with a 4kW alternator at 650 rpm and then you will appreciate what these engines can do!
