probably a dumb question, but is it entirely necessary to use the shims on the injection pumps?

Tengo un cigüeñal que tiene un seguro antes del piñón. el cual tiene 2 zonas planas paralelas y quisiera saber si es roscado o sale a presión

will the pumps not work if you dont have the proper shims or what happens if you dont use the shims but you install everything else in order

My generator 20kva too smoke then shutdown under light load what will do

my lpw4 did the same thing, i had fuel blockages from the tank, and the fuel lines and the rail. pretty much have to take the whole fuel system apart and clean it, but be very careful or youll be in my position, if you remove the injection pumps the shims apparently have to be correct but i dont know why, just dont lose them and take plenty of pictures. once removed just shoot some air cleaner in the lines and purge with air to blow it out , when its all set just reinstall and see where your at from there.
