Nice. I love listers, have a number of them still and sold about a dozen over the past couple years. Indestructible litre engines

Can't go far wrong with a Lister! The design is as old as the hills, but by keeping it up to date it has stood the test of time, and every new version just builds on the strength of the previous versions. We have a 1978 ST-2 driving a 1963 BKB 6kW generator. It's all bullet proof engineering that will outlive any of us.

Darn right. I'm going to put an 8 kw Lima-MAC head on my 1979 ST2 and keep that one for myself. These ST3 units are way more than I need for a backup generator.

@@bigchevy80 I can agree with that. We saved a Stamford C20B gen-end that had been parted from an ST-3 set. The C20B is a 32kW three phase monster, way bigger than we could use efficiently. So we paired it up with a Perkins 4-154, and use it on the rare occasions where the smaller set isn't quite enough.

@@whitesapphire5865 I just acquired an sr3 with a 12.5kw c20a single phase. Any suggestions before putting it into service as a backup for the house? I also acquired a copy of the manual from stamford (covers the c line) if that's of any use to you.

Nice work. USCG won't let us use copper tubing for fuel on an engine as it supposedly work hardens and cracks. I noticed that right away.

I thought about that after I'd already plumbed it up. Had an old roll of the tubing on the shelf, that's the only reason I did it that way. Although the other Listers I've had all used copper lines from the factory, so I wasn't too worried about it.

It needs an oil centrifuge. It's the best 200 you can spend, in my opinion.

I've been in love with Listers ever since seeing the old CS diesels at an antique engine show years ago. I found these three ST3 gensets being sold on eBay in one lot. I'd had another lister generator with an SR3 before as well. Found the little SR2 at an estate auction, and I've also recently drug home an ST2 that I found on Craigslist. They aren't common over here in the US anymore, so I try to buy them anytime I happen to come across one.
