Amazing! recording, as everything else has plunged into artificiality and technisism. Mengelberg always had something to say and the orchestra responds with nobility and beauty. The phrasing is so clear, there are expressive "portamenti", all the qualities indeed. Thank you so much!

So ahead of his time and apart from most all in composition. Might as well b progressive rock. Lovely small orchestra selection thanks again.

'Grosser Saal' is actually German. In the Netherlands, we call it the 'Grote Zaal'. Did you use a German pressing or edition of the recording? The recording/restoration sounds amazing, btw.

Thanks for the info. It was just copied from the edition. The edition is Italian, I believe.
