It's great to hear "Madame Liszt" playing this lovely Mazurka !

OK, I'll be honest your channel is pretty much one of the most rare ones in Sheet+Audio category. I have never found a recording of this and only 1 PDF in IMSLP. Well done on that!

Чудесная мазурка. Не знаю почему,но первое ,что напомнило Чайковского. Очень красиво. Прекрасное исполнение. Спасибо. У вас так много интересного. Thank you so much 💓. How endless talent was Liszt.

Some parts are uncannily Chopinistique for a Liszt piece. The pianist gets the character of Mazurka style perfectly.
I've never heard such recordings of the more uncommon Liszt works, but France Clidat is outstanding. Liszt really brings out the best in her and she does the same for him.

" It is Liszt’s only original contribution to this genre"..... The final movement of the Weihnachtsbaum suite is also in this genre. :)

I find it so unfortunate that Liszt didn't compose more Mazurkas. Not at all to downplay the great master Chopin, I find this Mazurka just as interesting (if not even more interesting!) than Chopin's Mazurkas. I think he probably wanted to honor Chopin with this Mazurka rather than trying to overshadow the genius Chopin. I can't stop listening to this cool Mazurka!

Totally agree. I love Chopin, but I think that Liszt did better polonaises and this mazurka is better than Chopin's others 😁
@dommyajd90332 жыл бұрын
@@nestorandre6053 Not sure I agree - I think Liszt has a lot to offer and his Polonaises are spectacular especially the Mélancolique but I think Chopins mazurkas are unbeatable - for me they truly grasp the Polish character of the dance and have more emotional maturity and subtlety brought to life by the harmonic and textural choices.

Some of this sounds much more Hungarian than Polish, particularly the ending.
