I can just imagine something like this as a full violin concerto, and honestly the thought is so wonderful. Like, the style of this piece is just amazing beyond compare, and it would be incredible seeing something on this calibre played as a concerto.

This is simply beautiful. I've listened to many versions of this piece played on the piano. But this is the first time I've seen it's played on violin and piano. Such a masterpiece.

Marvelous piece of music with virtuosity, grace, passion and fire very evident in the performance. Not just a piece to show off in - it’s has irresistible musical appeal & playfulness. Much of this in of course in the composition, but the delivery is amazing. The mystery for me is how Liszt every came up with such an amazing piece. Hand me one of the scales he worked from and I’d give you an Indian or flamenco piece. Mind you, I'm still wondering how we get so much out of 12 notes/tones.

No, Liszt and Paganini would play it together and it would be the perfect duo. Liszt was inspired by Paganini to do the same for the piano (I think)

Probably to make it easier for the violinist. Playing low first fingers and high four fingers in the same scale is a pain in the ass, speaking from experience
